    Pros +

    • The staff are very helpful & nice.
    • The location is great. It’s away from the loud and busy Ile de Flores. The lake view is so nice and calming. The hotel is really beautiful. The rooms were great as well. Very comfortable, clean and quite spacious. They were also pretty quiet.
    • This hotel is a real gem. Located on the shore of Lake Petén, with its bungalows hidden in the surrounding forest, it could not be more beautiful, relaxed and quiet. Add to that a really good restaurant with exceptional breakfast (everything is made to order, no buffet), and the most helpful and friendly staff you can imagine. The bed was super comfortable, which is really important to me.

    Cons -

    • Got food poisoning from their food. They charge to take customers by boat to the main island when there is no other way to get there - seems like a ridiculous way for an expensive hotel to make more money. Staff is nice but loves so slowly.
    • The food and service could have been better at the restaurant. Also, depending on other guests the common areas can get really loud. I wish they had a policy about noise with such a serene space.
    • Access by road is difficult. Doable, but you’ll need a car suitable for offroad use.But I recommend booking your tours directly with the hotel, in which case you won’t need a car.It is much nicer to arrive with their boat shuttle from Flores Island anyway.

The location is beautiful & serene. Lovely lake views The staff were very friendly & accommodating. The kayaks & pedal boat were nice to use free of charge. The hiking trail up to the look out was nice to do.

The property is very dated & tired looking. Only a few lounge chairs offered around the pool which were very worn along with lounge furniture. The service is lacking, the staff are very kind but do lack fine dining experience. The food was average & expensive, it was not considered fine dining or 5 star rating. The menu is limited & lacking selection with no snacks to buy other than the same menu items. Our lake breeze suite offered no view of lake & there were no screens on the patio doors. The rooms need renovations to update them. There is no mini fridge, the coffee in suite & dining room was not good & very weak. The boat transfer was good but pontoons also old looking & need repair. The Spa was nice but the massage was not professional RMT just a relaxing massage. The hiking trail would be helpful to be marked & perhaps offer a map to follow.

What a wonderful stay we had. In the middle of a forest ("jungle" we may say), so quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Quite luxurious speedboat transferring us from Flores and back. Good kitchen and first of all excellent staff, so helpful and with unusual friendly attitude. I strongly recommend this hotel to everyone, who wants to feel one of the best possible vibes.

The lake and nature surrounding , food was also good.

Given worse room than initially booked with one bed instead of 2. Shower broken, dirty, not cleaned properly, rude staff. Was promised help with luggage on check out day and boxed breakfast but nobody showed up.

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Extremely comfortable rooms. The beds were the best hotel beds that I have experienced. The location was perfect.

The service in the restaurant was a little slow & falls short of fine dining.

Incredible hotel on the lake with stunning views, facilities, and lovely staff. We’re a British couple in our late 20s and it’s one of our favourite hotels that we’ve ever stayed in. There is a shuttle boat that runs from the hotel to Flores island which is a pretty cool mode of transport. Few things we particularly liked:- The staff are accommodating offering great excursions (Tikal was the tour we did and enjoyed) and were very welcoming, particularly given our Spanish was very poor- the food at the hotel is really good, nice touch preparing the breakfast boxes too when we had early departures from the hotel - good drinks options too (beers and cocktails the highlight from our side, wine was expensive but that’s to be expected) - there are kayaks and pedalos free to use too which were a nice touch. - the room is stunning with beautiful views, good TV, impressive bathroom

We absolutely loved this property—it was the perfect place to stay during our trip! The views of the lake are breathtaking, and the tranquil atmosphere made our stay so enjoyable. One of the highlights was having access to water equipment like kayaks, which were included in the stay—such a great perk for exploring the lake.We were pleasantly surprised by the food, especially after reading some of the previous reviews. Out of curiosity, we spoke to the hotel staff about the feedback, and they mentioned they’ve been working hard to improve. It shows! The included breakfast was absolutely delicious and gave us the perfect start to our day.The staff were wonderful—always friendly and eager to help. Getting around the property was seamless, as we never had to wait for a golf cart to take us to our room.Overall, this property exceeded our expectations. From the stunning views to the thoughtful amenities and excellent service, it was a truly memorable experience. Highly recommend it!

Great location, hidden away in the forest. Big room with great views from the large balcony. Very efficient ferry service from hotel to Flores Island. The staff were all friendly. The airport transfers went very smoothly. The two staff members on reception (Brayam? and Danila?) were both very helpful when we had a problem with a cancelled flight and a lost phone. They also helped us book a good trip to Tikal.

    Jacuzzi didn't always work.

The grounds were spectacular. The staff was wonderfully accommodating. The food was delicious. The rooms were exceptional. The price was right.

    We like everything about it.

Excellent staffEspecially Brayam Wonderful breakfast, evening meals delicious Amazing groundsSecluded location but Flores available via launchArranged all tours flawlessly

    7MarcoPosted on: 2-28-2024

The property is located right on the lake which is great. Access to some free water activities and a free boat ride to and from Flores for check-in and checkout. The house was modern and comfortable.

The staff was not helpful in many occasions. They asked us to reserve for dinner but made us wait on the boat in Flores for 50 minutes. We got to dinner late and they rushed us by bringing out food all at the same time without drinks. The place lacks a manager and the service is not worth the cost. The villa also smelled of mold.

Loved the clean, spacious rooms with amazing views. Loved the property, pool, lake, boat rides to Flores.

I wouldn't want to fault any of the hard working F&B staff, but they did seem quite overwhelmed and missed a few things in the orders. Good food though, didn't really detract from my stay, but I can see some people who like to complain making a bigger deal.

Location and facilities are very good. Views on the lake are amazing

Restaurants is good but (very) slow and overpriced.

This is a lovely property to stay in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a massage which was heavenly. Food and drink were all very good too.

A few more loungers around the swimming pool would be a good idea. There are not very many and there is room available for a few more.
