Pros +
- The room was spacious and covered all and more of our needs. The location was superb by the Kiel Canal -historical and geographical master piece used constantly today. Food evening and breakfast wonderful . Evening excellent menu and cooking
- Very nice hotel directly on the canal. We could watch large ships pass by on the canal from our room. Breakfast was good and we could watch ships go by.
- The location is very good.
Cons -
- Room was very small, no coffee or tea facilities in the room, nor any other place. The coffee announced in the lobby for takeaway was never there, the restaurant did not offer a place despite 12 empty tables. Nobody was able to find out whether the tables were reserved or not.No aircondition in the hotel room and the window cannot be opened fully. Very warm.
- nothing in particular.
- It is not central and the restaurant is expensive (not unexpected). However, on the other side of the canal (via the foot tunnel) there is a choice of at least three restaurants

location and room quaility. professional and helpful staff
nothing in particular.
Room was large and comfortable with a deep bath.
We got the room, including breakfast, for a good price. It was as expected for a hotel of this category in Germany. and was certainly better than other places we stayed on our holiday for similar prices.Close to the ship canal and also the foot tunnel under the canal.

Good spot to stop on the long drive from France to Sweden. Comfortable room and bed. Loved watching the boats go by on the canal. Excellent dinner and breakfast.
Some areas of the bathroom had not been cleaned thoroughly. While very good, the restaurant was expensive. If we stay here again we'll go out to town to eat.
Friendly staff, nice room.
Bed was bit hard.
Very good
Staff at check in wasn't very friendly. The lift was not working when we left our room.
The staff is extremely helpful, kind and professional.
Staff on reception and in breakfast room very helpful and friendly. A very comfortable, clean room. Excellent breakfast with wide selection.
Great central location but a quiet location, adjacent to the Kiel canal with the massive ships gliding by regularly, but noiselessly.Top quality food in the restaurant both dinner and breakfast.
I did turn up on a motorbike and was caught in heavy downpour just as I arrived but I didn’t expect to be looked at as if I had slept rough the night before.Rain is wet Madame Receptionist!
very well located. good restaurant but need to book in advance. good place when you have a dog, get food and bowlscomfy beds, room is clean and functional
really need to book the restaurant because very little available around
Our 2. time stay! ?Rituals products in the bath.Clean and neat room/bathroom.Very friendly staff.Big variety at the breakfast buffet, coffee brought to the table.
Nothing!(Only the beds were to hard for our taste.)
Great location on the canal with lots of parking. Airy room, bathroom and comfortable beds. Short walk to eateries. Good breakfast.
At this price would benefit from a kettle and makings. Limited seating availability in the breakfast dining room (perhaps there was conference on?)
Everything was superb! The hotel is excellent and the staff went above and beyond with their help for us and our dog who was treated so specially. The breakfast choice is varied and the restaurant served delicious food at a decent price and it was very interesting to be next to the world renowned Kiel Canal
Not a lot
We stayed at this location because it was also a great view point for ships along the Kiel Canal and it's close proximity to Schleswig Air Base which was holding a NATO military air exercize. We travelled from Western Canada to be part of this event. Well worth the location plus if you have an EV, their recharging rates are very reasonable if your car is less than 50% charge.
Impressed with the quality and professionalism of the staff. Very comfortable rooms. Good breakfast. Perfect location to see the canal and the bridge. Free car park with lots of space.
Functional and practical exterior compared to some of the beautiful buildings nearby.
Right on the cycle path with cycle storage on offer. A very comfortable room. The evening meal was delicious.
Dinner service was atrocious and we waited 80 minutes to get our food. The restaurant was reasonably full but everything seemed to be disrupted by a local party event going on in the function room. The kitchen just didn’t cope. Breakfast was a ‘bun fight’. 13 tables and too many people at 8 am. Then they ran out of tea bags! (black tea type, as in breakfast tea). Wifi was hopeless throughout the hotel. To be fair I got a small discount when I complained about dinner but I’d rather have eaten on time.
The breakfast was perfect. The staff in the breakfast room was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean, and all the rooms have a very nice view. The location of the hotel is very good. There is a tunnel at the canal and on the otherside of the tunnel there is a very nice Greek restaurant.
The reception has a little bit bossy attitude.
