Pros +
- The Aiyana Resort & Spa is absolutely gorgeous. I loved the positive energy of the team — their warmth and genuine care truly stand out. Being a family-run hotel, the experience feels incredibly personal, as if you’re a guest in someone’s beautiful home. From the moment you arrive, you are constantly taken care of and pampered, making the stay feel both intimate and luxurious at the same time.A special thank you to Max for the exceptional hospitality and for making our stay even more memorable.
- Beautiful, quiet resort away from everything. Perfect for relaxation after safari. Excellent service and the chef is really really good. Best to bring reef shoes so you can walk out to see the red sea stars when the tide is low. Four nights were plenty as there isn’t a lot to do, but rest. Main pool was nice. Glad we didn’t get a pool attached to our room.
- I loved the staff and management treating us like a family. The diving, the beach and the landscape were fantastic. the food was exceptional. it was total relaxation.
Cons -
- I can not think of anything I did not like
- Not clean Requests not attended to
- Since we are talking about luxury and perfection just a very small note about the bath towels - to my taste could be softer and a little bit longer. But its really a small detail, everything else was just perfect.

This is a beautiful property with a great taste in many details, the architect thought about a lot of small details in all parts of the hotel, the views, the mix between African, Arabic, modern, etc, the way rooms are located, the floor in the toilet and the combination with nature, etc.The sunrise and sunset from the hotel are both amazing, the staff is the best the hotel has, they are always looking to help you and Max the owner is always there and looking to help if anything is needed. The food was also very good, they have an amazing chef, specially the Tuna was very fresh and cooked to perfection.

This might be the best hotel in the world! The suite was absolutely amazing, even better than shown on the photos! Location is perfect - a pristine beach - white sand, hot clear blue waters - almost noone but some locals fishing near the sand. Some of the food is michelin star worth it - the tuna sashimi couldn't be more fresh, just perfect; the selection of wines is well worth it and the staff is the best we have ever had - professionals, elegants, eager to serve well (and oh they do!!). All the resort if of extreme elegance and good taste. Like I said - this might be the best hotel in the world! Please continue and don't change.

Very Clean, staff was phenomenal, not very crowedpool at our villa
Internet was really badbeach was so -so
This place has been thoughtfully designed by the founder, Ashok who is overlooking the daily operations. Staying here is a fantastic experience in many ways. Ashok and team excel in delighting all guests, big or small.
There is an additional tax which we had to pay, although our booking mentioned including all taxes. Not all credit cards are accepted.
Privacy, serene environment and nice, friendly hospitable staff.
Distance from the airport and port
The property is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful design aesthetic and unique features. Art gallery is a nice touch. The white sand beach is lovely, and the food was also quite tasty, fresh and with good variety. The spa services were excellent.
The Aiyana describes itself as a five-star luxury resort, and it may look like one on paper and in design, but it is far from it in service and experience. We found ourselves having to ask multiple times over for things to actually receive them (and I'm talking basics here like water at meals or to get soap in our room). While the villas are spacious and lovely, the air con is horrible and does not work well enough to keep the whole space cool, resulting in you having to close off sections just to keep the main sleeping quarters a reasonable temperature, leaving the bathroom and other areas feeling like a sauna every time you have to enter it. We arranged an airport transfer from the hotel for our flight and the driver was more than 20 minutes late. After asking repeatedly what was happening, I walked down the driveway to see what was going on and found that they had used our airport transfer to deliver supplies for the hotel (which would be fine if they were then on time for our needed departure time), so we were late to the airport because they used the guest vehicle as a supply transfer. While generally a nice stay, every day we were met with some sort of frustration that unfortunately added up to make this stay far from the relaxing luxury experience they sell it as. Not worth the expense.P.S. Since I notice someone else called it out in their review, I'll also note that the wine was indeed an issue. They make a point to show off their wine cellar, but their menu is very limited and with prices almost double what we paid for the same bottles at other properties in Zanzibar. They also consistently would bring a different year than what was listed on the menu and try to sell it for the same price, not acknowledging that the year can make quite a difference in the wines produced.
Extremely friendly staff always made us feel welcome. The restaurant was incredibly good, with fresh seafood and local produce. A beautiful location for scuba diving and for enjoying colorful sunsets!
Impeccable stay! Great location with pristine beach, amazing excursions and sensational food. Rooms are spacious and blend with nature beautifully, and the hotel has a perfect location on the beach and close to many snorkelling locations. We highly recommend the mangrove and sand bank excursions, absolutely not to be missed.
Nothing, we will come back
Beautiful space and design, really lovely staff who made us feel very welcome for our honeymoon, the beach is stunning and it happened that the owner was on site when we were there and he made us feel very welcome. Beautiful memories, and the food was great, including the bread !
Loved the location , the staff and the accommodation - perfect place to relax with great food and an amazing beach - the staff are beyond great
We loved the place however …..The wines were very hit and missAt 70 USD per bottle minimum this felt like an oversight on the part of the property - th Chardonnay and Chemin Blanc were truly awful
The Swahili Breakfast was amazing
Obviously it is a remote location on an Island so there were quite a lot of insects in the room that were annoying
Clean and very nice people
Price was expensive
Stunning location on a white sand beach, surrounded by authentic nature, you can access the beach directly from your room and swim in the warm water. I also recommend to take a massage on the Spa located on the rock. I loved the sweet and smily personnel, always very calm and polite. The resort and room design is remarkable.
Insects management can be improved. Bees won’t allow you a peaceful breakfast. Missing mosquito net around the bed: got bitten during the night.
A Paradise for experienced travellers. If you love big international luxury hotel networks, pls forget this place. You will not like it. Everything connects you to Mother nature here. You can leave your expensive but, very cheap dresses home. Food is amazing and fresh but the local staff open your heart with a smiles. A special txs to Bella and Epifany.
Few suggestions: I would rather opt for a more local breakfast selection rather than some international proposals which cannot be provided at the state of art. Insects are everywhere in tropical areas, this is not an issue per se, but fumigation should be performed more frequently
Exceptional stay with very friendly smiling staff, clean, very tasty fresh food, calming aura, great setup/organization in every aspect.
Could have stayed some more days :)
The resort location is second to none, beaches are stunning and architecture pleasing to the eye
Calibre of food is very different to the last time I was there
