Surrounded by beautiful gardens, Shamrock Lodge Hotel is a family-run hotel in the very center of Ireland, just a 5 minute walk from the restaurants, bars, and nightlife of central Athlone. Each room at Shamrock Lodge offers free Wi-Fi, along with a TV and tea/coffee facilities. Some rooms also offer scenic views of the gardens. Iona Bar has garden views and serves traditional food every day. An Luain Restaurant is renowned in the Midlands for its excellent cuisine. Free parking is available on site, and Athlone’s rail and bus station is a 5 minute drive away.

- Staff was very helpful with giving recommendations and direction to local venues
- The rooms were huge and the bed was very comfortable.

Cons -
- Photos of the hotel it shows that there are washer/dryer combinations. When we got to our room the washer/dryer was not present. We went to the desk and asked and they stated there weren't laundry facilities on site. Also a fridge would have been nice.
