Cons -
- the.breakfast.was.very.average
- Internet so poor could not use. Should put No Internet in advertising. First night one of our light switches was not working so we could not switch lights off. Managed to get teh flickering light off and maintenance repaired next morning. The staff get 10/10 except for the woman making the eggs at berakfast on Thursday and Friday mornings. If she was there at all as ehe went missing for 10 minutes at a time, show let you understand she was doing you a favour. On the Saturday, the lady taking that spot was superb.
- Nothing comes to mind.

The location and breakfast
The facilities. The heater in the room was not working. We had no gowns.
Nice location.
The bathroom smelled very badly of damp which spilled into the bedroom. The staff tried to help with a thorough clean and an air freshener but this couldn’t hide the damp. The air conditioner was not working, again the staff was helpful by bringing a heater but with it being KZN an Aircon is required for comfort not just heat. The bathroom light didn’t work, the sliding door was stuck and had to struggle to open. The room service QR code menu shows an apology message, when calling room service we were told to walk down and fetch a menu (for room service?!). The housekeeping staff, front desk and maintenance are very friendly and nice, it’s a pity the property is not updated or maintained.
Breakfast was fine, the room was nice and situated Nicley to see the pool and lake, only thing was the laundry room was outside my door so there was constant opening and closing of that door, bed was very comfy. dinner was not great. I love the estate overall and the wildlife is beautiful
Thank you for a fabulous weekend. We also appreciated the added Easter gestures at check inn & inside our room 210 was just gorgeous. Will definitely be back again soon. We loved every part of it. Next time we do hope that it is a little warmer as now summer is over & the pool was iced, with a crisp chill in the air, but still so enjoyable & relaxing. Staff were absolutely friendly from the gates, reception, ,housekeeping, beach area, restaurant, pool sides even the life gaurds.
The insects in the rooms...But that's something that's expected given the location. We tried to keep the balcony door & windows closed. I think for the future maybe housekeeping can do 1 last check up before arrival, especially the curtains, beddings & the ceilings ...But this won't affect my 10 Star review as everything else was just gorgeous!
The view, beach and the activities and the staff was excellent
The are no life guards near the pool …that bad cause someone almost sink on me the pool
Friendly staff, breakfast, environment was refreshing and we really enjoyed swimming at the beach we really enjoyed our vacation we will come back again❤️?️??
Always beautiful at San Lameer.
Very noisy guests near the Bar kept us awake. The Spa has a package advertised but when I went to book, the Receptionist said there is no such package and all their packages are very expensive. She was arrogant and her response offended my husband and I . I sent her proof of the package that is on the San Lameer site and she apologized and said she will send it to management. Ruined my stay there-she should've checked the site straight away instead of judging me and treating me like I can't afford anything there
Beautiful Estate, we enjoyed a few rounds on the mashie course, fun activities for kids on Easter Sunday. The beach was beautiful too.
We booked for 2 adults and a 3 year old no bed provided for child, the room was pretty small, the shower leaked and we had to keep asking for extra floor towels, the extractor fan in the bathroom made quite a noise. Pillows were not great.
Clean rooms (seem recently refurbished)Nice setting on lagoonVery nice breakfast buffet
Beautiful placeAnd room was very comfortable
The TV channelsThe annoying monkeysNo sea views
I received a very warm welcome from hotel staff and they were all very helpful in everything tuing especial Mandisa our stay was enjoyable
Network problem we even fail to connect to their Wi-Fi and their restaurant had very limited menu as well as not nice food they must please try to improve on that every meal is bad from breakfast to dinner we were disappointed
There isn't much of a variety of the buffet. Location is perfect.
It was my hubby's birthday and our 25 year anniversary. It didn't feel special at all. Our anniversary dinner was terrible. I could not even get more mash to accompany my meal and had to settle for rice instead. My husband and I both got the lamb shanks. We ended up sick that night. Complained but nothing much was done. The head chef then made up for the terrible experience and getting sick with a packet of chips, slice of cake and cool drinks. And we had wasted almost R1000.00 on a meal that got us sick. my kids joined the next day and their room was not at all what we expected. They moved to another room. This room was worst. Very untidy. They were locked out of their room as the door would not open. Maintenance could not sort until they had to break it open. It took about 2 hours before that could be done. We had to cancel our lunch reservations with family. Then we had to move the kids and their luggage to another room. By then we were extremely exhausted and wasted almost an entire day. The weekend wasn't at all what we expected and wasted our money on this trip not to mention the bad memories to go with our special day and weekend celebration.
Breakfast did not cater for gluten free and lactose intolerant person , however staff was very pleasant. We did send a message, and response was noted on my booking app
The air conditioning didn't work properly, it was noisy thw whole night.the toilet cistern had water flushing continuously, even after having the maintenance person to have a look ? The shower head was clogged, but the lady in charge attended to it, and it worked perfectly. These things could have been avoided if the room was checked and prepared before our arrival.
The rooms were badly laid out there was no space to sit together in the rooms with family, the bathrooms were in the rooms and the smell of drains is overpowering, the aircon hardly worked. The problems with the monkeys means you can't open the windows for ventilation. so the accommodation was very disappointing, especially considering the high price/rates charged. On the positive side the staff and service was excellent, the resturant and food was excellent and the grounds and surroundings were superb.
double the room size, and have a small seating area and separate the bathrooms, have better ventilation/aircon
