Hotel Metropol WELLNESS & CONGRESS HOTEL

The hotel was much better than we expected, especially considering its quite remote location. The room was very large, comfortable, and clean. We were pleasantly surprised to find bathrobes and slippers — something you rarely see in Europe nowadays. There is a 24/7 reception, which is also uncommon for such a quiet area. Nice view from the window with a bit of mountain scenery. Tasty breakfast, and access to the spa was included, which was a great bonus.

The water in the shower was not very hot.

Easy walkable from train station, only few minute walk to beautiful Len shaped old town center. The room was big, has separated toilet room and bathroom, two big windows that can open the top to let the fresh air in. The staff were so welcoming and very helpful with smile. We were so impressed with the hospitality here. We checked in on Saturday so on Sunday morning the breakfast was buffet with lots of variety but the next Monday the breakfast only few cold food but the staff will give you the menu to choose the hot food. We didn’t use the wellness here but for anyone that interested in this service we recommend this is the perfect hotel in Spišská Nová Ves.

The elevator was small, we are 2 small built body with one carry on and 1 back pack, it was already fill up the space. This is not a complain but to give info to customer.

Poor breakfast! Definitely not a 4 stars hotel! Very old ! It s the first time when i saw an elevator so small, for only 2 persons without luggage!

Room, breakfast, location

Good location and the stuff was very nice. So in terms of the location perfect, in terms of parking, great in front of hotel, I am not sure whether it was paid or not, that does not matter.

The rooms are in poor condition. Missing Air condition, the curtains in order to make a shadow in the room, you need to use and move 5 curtains to manage the shadow. The water in the shower it took more than 5 minutes until water started to be warm. I did not took the breakfast so I cannot comment on that, however I will not going to again to this hotel. The owners should invest some money, so that people will come back, not only use the facility without any investing in the hotel itself and it could have a great potential.

close proximity to town centrum, restaurants and sights. Also well positioned for our visit to Spissky Castle. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Parking was good and safe. Room was large and made our evening comfortable and relaxing. Mini bar was convenient. Breakfast was abundant, fresh and tasty!

room was slightly too hot for us, and windows couldn't be opened to allow for extra ventilation. carpet was in need of replacement.

No all saunas were functioning. The steam sauna was not properly heated, the jacuzzi was not warm.The price is quite high.The juices at breakfast were warm.

Clean and large enough rooms, comfortable beds, good temperature in winter. The hotel is close to the city and the ice hall. The cuisine is excellent, you can choose 3 dishes daily menu for 18 Eur, not cheap but fine. The abundant breakfast is made of quality ingredients and with a large selection.

Wifi in the rooms is very poor, cannot be used.The parking place was full of ice, not cleaned for drivers. The rate is not cheap.

No coffe/te making fascilities in room

Breakfast was amazing - huge selection of foods and everything was delicious. SPA was ok - beware of the 'naked rule', but we really liked one sauna, one cold bath and hot stones loungers.Room was spacious, bed was comfortable.We also had dinner there, which was good.

The building and the room are quite old and 'tired', Light are blinking and take around 5sec to turm on - like in horror movies.They obviously try to keep it clean, but all in all it's difficult to achieve the good result where the repair is needed.

Good hotel but not the best 4star hotel!

Friday and Saturday were parties in the building until 3am in the morning. It was very noisy and it we couldn’t sleep well.

Staff, hotel, location, breakfast - everything was good

We stayed at this hotel because it has a spa. The complex is nice, but not all saunas were open. Also, we were not able to put our own belongings in the lockers, as they were only for visitors from outside the hotel.

Very big rooms generally, beds are very comfortable, clean bathrooms. Nice selection at the breakfast despite the fact there is almost no change in the variety if you are staying for the couple days. So you generally eat the same variations all the time which might be bit annoying honestly speaking after 2-3 days. However hotel itself is generally very good.

Doors are very loud honestly speaking (both from the rooms and especially at the halls). If you do not help the hall door to close, it hits the frame like a dynamite which is not convenient especially at nigh hours. But rooms themselves are quite well sound-proofed. The worse thing which happend to me several times already is that due to the fact this hotel is the only reasonable one 4 stars hotel in the area, many people selecting it for Weddings celebrations. So be careful if you are staying from Friday to Saturday as it is likely there will be wedding celebration which means lot of music and noise till the late night, so when you have rooms oriented to the restaurant, it is bit annoying. and of course, in the next morning it might be bit crowdy at the breakfast. Otherwise hotel is good location to stay.

Gloriously, unselfconsciously retro. Shiny wallpaper, striped carpets, and lots and lots of dark wood-grain plastic. Teeny-tiny elevators but it's worth the wait. The room even has kind of a retro smell, but in a good way - some kind of robust industrial-strength cleaning products they use, none of this delicate 21st-century stuff. Just like the bad old days except the staff are pleasant and the food is present. The room was huge. Great wellness center in the basement.

Restaurant seemed to keep different hours than what was posted, and was closed for a wedding on Saturday; weddings happen of course, but advance notice would have been nice. Massage in the wellness center was lackluster.

We booked a room but got an apartment with 2 rooms, so it was larger than expected. Toilet and bathroom was separated which was great and unusual for a hotel room. Hotel and room was clean, breakfast was excellent, price seemed to be lower than in similar hotels - during our stay we found out the probable reason.

The room did not have air conditioning and had a tilt window with minimal opening, preventing ventilation of the room. During hot summer days the room heats up, and although the night was chilly outside we were boiling in the room because we were not able to properly open the window and the tilt window did not let in any fresh air, only the huge noise from the street. So a good sleep was impossible.Hotel's response to a similar review was:- They could have asked for the window to be opened by hotel staff - How were we supposed to know about that option when there was a sign posted on the window explicitly stating that the windows cannot be opened?- They could have asked for a room with A/C - We did not need an A/C, and we could not have known when we made the booking that the windows cannot be opened, in all hotels there is either a window that can be opened or there is A/C (or both).
