They have smoking rooms available. This is important to me and my relaxation. The staff were incredible. The language barrier was no big issue even though they didn't speak good English and we didn't speak German. They made sure we had all we needed.
Location is not that good. Price is to high and does not meet with the room you pay. Breakfast is excellent.

Top Tips
- Book hotels 6 to 12 months ahead for major trade fairs like Hannover Messe, as rates can surge 50% to 100% during these events. Early booking gives you a better chance of securing a preferred hotel chain near the fairgrounds.
- Expect a 5% city tax on your hotel bill in Hannover; this fee supports local tourism infrastructure. The tax is charged at checkout and cannot be waived, so include it in your total stay cost.
- Prioritize hotels in Mitte within 1 to 2 km of Hannover Hauptbahnhof for direct tram routes, reaching most points of interest in under 10 minutes. Rates in these central locations are often 20% to 50% higher than in districts farther out.
- Verify Wi-Fi speeds of 50 to 100 Mbps before booking if you plan to work remotely; most Hannover hotels offer these speeds, but contact the hotel directly to confirm actual performance during quieter periods.
- Use contactless payment and decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) to avoid 2% to 5% markups. ATMs linked to your bank's network reduce fees, typically €2–€5 (approx. $15) per withdrawal.
- Request step-free access in advance if needed, as 70% to 80% of central hotels offer it. Older buildings in districts like Herrenhausen may be less consistent, so contact the hotel for updated accessibility information.
- Consider Neustadt or Oststadt districts for a quieter stay within 2 km of the city center. Hotels here offer central access with less street noise than the immediate area around Hauptbahnhof.
- Tap water in Hannover is potable and safe to drink; ask for 'Leitungswasser' at restaurants to avoid bottled water costs. Hotel chains often provide complimentary in-room water for loyalty members, so check your membership benefits before arrival.
- Check for air conditioning before booking, as many independent and older central hotels may not have it. Summer highs average mid-20s °C but can reach mid-30s °C; international chains are more likely to provide reliable A/C, so verify specific amenities with the property.
- Use a GVH ticket or Hannover Card for unlimited city transit on trams and buses. Ticket inspections are frequent with on-the-spot fines for missing or unvalidated tickets; always validate your ticket when boarding.
- Carry cash for small purchases or stalls in Linden and Markthalle, where payment is often preferred by cash or EC/Maestro card. Most central hotels accept major credit cards.
- Store luggage at Hannover Hauptbahnhof in station lockers or staffed left-luggage for €4–€8 (approx. $15) per day. Some hotels offer complimentary luggage hold for early arrivals or late departures - check at reception.
- Explore nightlife and independent restaurants in Linden, shop or stay in mid-range hotels in List, or choose Laatzen for the closest proximity to Messe during fair weeks. Each of these neighborhoods is less than 20 minutes by tram from the city center.
- Anticipate possible noise if staying on main streets or near Georgstraße entertainment venues. Bring earplugs or request a high-floor or courtyard-facing room for a quieter stay.
- Contact your hotel directly to confirm in-room accessibility features. While most provide step-free access to lobbies and elevators, older buildings may have limitations for bathroom or visual alarms. Advance notice helps hotels accommodate requests.
