About
The name of the hotel stands for its history. The hotel had long been the first address in town, known as Hotel Schluechtern, which was established in the place where the former department store Langer was located. It had accommodated many personalities, traveling on the Frankfurt-Leipzig route. The recently established, new Hotel Stadt Schluechtern offers 60 beds in comfortable guest rooms in contemporary design. General standard equipment includes telephone, TV, fax connection and one wheelchair accessible room.

Pros +
- Very central location, amazing breakfast, kind and helpful staff
- breakfast is good with a wide choice and lovely fresh rolls as you would expect in Germany. In the Centre of the town and in walking distance of amenities and my cousins, Beds are comfortable, room and all areas clean and tidy. Shower has nice pressure also. For 1 night stay we find it great and have stayed before when visiting family
- Clean
Cons -
- It would be nice to have a kettle in the room to be able to make coffee/tea when required. Not a great option for a lengthy stay in town as nothing in the room beyond basics.
- Booked in this app using Amex credit card whereas in the hotel they don’t accept Amex and then make this the customers problem
- No A/C

Good breakfast, spacious room

Comfy bed, easy communication through chat, check in 24h, but need to tell them in advance so that they put the key into the locker.
Very short stay, so didn't find anything to not like. It's a simple business hotel. I heard the breakfast is very good from colleagues.
Very clean, comfortable, quiet, excellent breakfast right in the heart of town. Secure storage for bicycle. Very tasteful contemporary fitout.
The free Telekom wifi had limited capacity. For very basic communication it was acceptable.
Breakfast was good was clean
Pillows were too thin
A very clean and bright hotel. Felt brand new. Very good customer service and amazing breakfast
Gret location and staff.
Late check in troubles
Good choices at breakfast. There is a bakery as part of teh hotel so teh baked goods are lovely. Friendly staff which is helpful when your English is limited.
location, closed to train station, next to hotel there is their bakery, breakfast was nice
no kettle to have some hot drink
Hotel was good value for money.
I was significantly delayed on arrival and departure having to explain to staff that I had prepaid the hotel. Despite this the staff attempted to take a second payment because they hadn't received the initial payment from booking.com. The matter was only resolved when the staff made a phone call to booking.com on the day of departure, despite showing the booking reservation, bank statements, being asked to give my company address, passport details, etc. Items that were personal, not relevant and shouldn't have had to be disclosed.
