    Pros +

    • Beautiful building. Quirky design. Easy parking.
    • This a beautiful Chateau , the accommodation was magnificent. We only stayed one night, wish we had stayed more. We had dinner and breakfast, it was very good. We will definitely return to this place!
    • Plenty of room, wonderful spaces in/around the suite as well as to explore around the property. Garden was a joy to explore Wish we'd stayed for breakfast, since the selection looked amazing, and wish we'd spent some time around the pool as well

    Cons -

    • Strange place. Facilities are appalling (the gym was laughable). Everywhere is dark, really dark. Hotel room was freezing. Staff are mediocre. Perhaps it’s better in summer. Constant phishing attacks after their system was hacked. No apology.
    • The stay was great - no complaints
    • They did not have air conditioning in the restaurant and entire first floor - and only marginal ac for some of the rooms, but understandably it was during an extreme hot spell out of their control. Dinner room was beyond hot n sweltering to enjoy- even at latest time possible - again weather is out of their control but ….

It is beautiful, the rooms are romantic and gorgeous welcoming staff, they went out of their way to accommodate what they could

Like the history and splendor of the place as well as the gardens. Staff was fantastic.

Wish pool was heated. ?Dining room got a bit warm at dinner. Some air circulation would help.

The bathroom was a bit dark

we loved the room (Mongolia, with love) the staff, the grounds, the entire chateau. breakfast both days were fantastic.

two things were really poor: 1) the room next to us let their door slam so many times, our bed moved every time the door slammed. It was quite aggravating at the 15th or 20th time. 2) the dinner was not up to the standard as the rest of the chateau, it was really disappointing.

There was nothing NOT to like.. breakfast is pretty standard fare, as can be expected but dinner was lovely with a lot of attention to detail; well prepared and carefully presented and served. As non-alcohol drinkers we had a lovely choice of juices, freshly made on the premises.

Nothing much ! It is not a problem at all but our room, Venice Carnaval is quite theatrical and dark. Being slightly older guests, we felt there could have been more lights in the room. This is all subjective as the next, possibly younger couple will find it perfect for them. There is a choice of rooms though and is really not a problem at all. It would have been very nice if I had a covered parking for my car !

The Château de Maubreuil is a truly amazing 5-star hotel located on a huge estate just outside of Nantes. The decoration of the entire hotel and your room will take you back in time. This theming around the former lord of the manor is done down to the smallest detail. The breakfast is rich and fresh, and the restaurant offers very tasty French cuisine for dinner. While we were unable to use the outdoor pool due to weather conditions, the hotel's spa in the basement is a very relaxing place. The gardens around the Caste are amazing and offer exciting opportunities for a walk.

Latest technology fittings. Good breakfast. Well trained and polite staff.

Overloaded & outdated decoration.Limited choice & unimaginative restaurant cooking.Overpriced bar.

Very historical place. Old building of the hotel but very modern electronical system inside. Big area of the hotel. A lot of trees.

The food is very specific. Be ready.

Château de Maubreuil exceeded our expectations! This was our first stay at the Château. First impression was WOW! It is everything one would expect a Château to be- Magical! It is clear that a lot of thought was put in to the landscaping with objects of art everywhere you look. Even the robot lawnmowers we dubbed Mo and Mourine were charming. The staff is A+ attentive and friendly and always available. They always greet you with a “Bonjour” and a smile. Remy, Matthew and Clara all volunteered to help us with planning our day trips and their recommendations definitely did not disappoint. The restaurant staff deserve to be mentioned here also. The food is of the highest quality and we wanted for nothing. We will definitely return and always remember our stay at Chateau Maubreuil.

We had dinner at the restaurant the first night of our stay. Fish was on the menu and it was delicious. However the next night the meal was pork and I’m a vegetarian who sometimes will eat fish. It was a little disappointing that even on the first night there was not a vegetarian option. By the way, they grow and serve their own vegetables and fruit at the Chateau. The preserves offered at breakfast were especially a treat.

Beautiful place, very comfortable room, good bathroom.

Staff seemed under pressure on 1st night in restaurant. It took 1hr to receive our main course, no explanation.

We loved the decor, grounds, art collection inside and outside, the food and the staff. Fabulous stay.

    10GilPosted on: 9-4-2024

What an extraordinary experience. 7 years to renovate this incredible estate and chateau with the latest in technology, high quality interior decoration, style, luxury and comfort. And that is just the inside! the extensive grounds, gardens, pool, art and spa were great joy, and great value. We are coming back next year, and look forward to their continued expansion. Superb and accommodating, discreet staff. Pure class! Raising the bar for Relais & Chateau.

    10IanPosted on: 8-28-2024

Really lived up to expectations. The rooms were amazing and the bath revitalising. Breakfast amazing. Hot section, breads, jams and cheeses, meat and savouries. The setting and gardens beautiful.

No Ginko baloba in the Japanese Garden.

Wonderful hotel, we loved our themed room. The pools looked great but we didn't have great weather. We loved our 2 days here.

The gardens were interesting but in need of a little more care to keep them looking good.

This place is over-the-top! Amazing decor and furnishings. Interesting history and enchanting imaginary messages from former owner. Grounds were fun to explore. Lots to see without leaving the property.

The hi-tech light switches were an annoyance. The whole place was fascinating and we enjoyed our one-night but that was enough.
