Hotel Paltinis

I've spend the New year in Maramures this year and I stayed at this hotel. The staff is great, attentive and the plus was the trout nursery. If you like fresh fish, this is the best place. The staff will cook a fresh fish right from the nursery. I highly recommend this hotel.

Classic old-fashioned mountain resort hotel with very friendly staff and very tasty food. The hotel also houses its own trout farm and you can eat fresh fish there. The ground of the hotel are beautiful and well maintained. The restaurant has tables both inside and outside, and is comfortably arranged. The menu is varied and the food is 'local style' and very tasty. You can reach a number of beautiful hiking routes from this location and you can go on foot to the 'Telescaun' and 'Telecabina' to go up and down the mountain to start your route in summer / for skiing in winter.The room was a small apartment with balcony and had everything we needed. The staff was very accommodating with any requests and wishes and the location was not crowded at all even during the hiking season. We could sleep well, as the area is very quiet.

The bathroom sanitary could use a refresh, as it's quite dated and has become hard to maintain.

Location is nice but hard and dangerous to get there by car because the street is too narrow. The parking lot is large, rooms are big enough.

Bad smell in the room and bathroom from the carpet. Twin beds are way to small for adults. Maybe kids can fit in it. There are no towel supports in the bathroom. No supports in the shower for toiletries.

The location looks very nice, surrounded by picturesque mountains and forrest with picturesque covered places to eat in outdoors. It was quiet both outside and inside and the rooms were nice. The sheets were changed every day with immaculate ones, it was a clean place. The TVs are new and the food was good.

The week had been a particularly cold one for July with minimums of 12C or lower and while the blankets were thick enough (2 of them) and they did turn on the heat a few hours every night, the rooms didn't heat up enough to last until morning. In one of the nights there has been a malfunction with the heating so the room stayed cold. I do appreciate the fact that they did turn on the heat in July so that the night temperatures were bearable with thicker pijamas. The closest intersection is at around 1.2 km from the hotel, Google Maps is deceiving.
