Pros +
- Beautiful property on the coast of Germany. Mainly locals that vacation here. Staff was also very accommodating.
- Stunning Service mentality. Beautiful setting. Fantastic restaurants. Super Spa.
- 1 star (if that).
Cons -
- Had no air con since it was broken. A ton of spiders on the property. I’ve never experienced such a thing before in my life. Also was very old and not much stuff to do there.
- Cobwebs and mold/moss everywhere. Unfriendly staff (to both guests and each other). Outdated, small spa and pool area (think motel). Horrible food and drink quality.
- Some flaws in servicing, especially restaurant service. Needs some attention to go from great to exceptional.

One of the best hotels in Germany. An icon with a unique location and stylish ambiance. Exceptional food, kids very welcome. Attention to detail. Simply grand.

Beautiful location, lovely hotel, very nice room and delicious breakfast.
The staff was mainly very young (18-20 years) and not nearly as professional as you would expect at this price range and hotel classification. It could take forever to get something as simple as the check or a coffee order and in the end you would get so frustrated that it ruined a part of the experience. Especially since you are paying a lot to drink and eat there. And since the staff was so young it was hard to give real feedback because they had no authority to make independent decisions. I would highly recommend the hotel to train their staff better. We would happily go back if we knew the service had improved.
Very friendly staff, good facilities and excellent breakfast
Parking to expensive
The whole hotel area is amazing. The terrace for breakfast is particularly fantastic.
Unfortunately, the service at all meals and also in the room was consistently poor on all days. This was even the common theme among the guests: who can find a waiter, who can order something, does what I ordered actually arrive, etc.? What a shame, we would have liked it to be different.
Very nice and well kept facilities. Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff.
Looked somewhat understaffed, especially the restaurants.
excellent service great breakfast and quiet location
parking was not available on site but the valet parking worked well. but could have been cheaper
Great Venue
Bar and food extremely expensive. Much more expensive than similar five star hotels.Inner pool is extremely loud with children, silent hours without children are not a respected. Pool area is very crowded and not well maintained.Silent rest rooms are not well ventilated, smells humid and mold
As always - location
Run down rooms and facilities by now, no longer high luxury and rates are to high for quality of rooms and beverage … they need to refurbish it
Breakfast was out of this world. Dinner was delicious, but the service was not reflective of a Michelin recommendation (our preferred language was, almost comically, forgotten repeatedly). The room was spacious and had all the amenities expected. The spa was good, with a spacious sauna (good for groups) and large indoor pool. The outdoor pool was crowded, especially with children, on the sunny day we went there, which also meant that few seating options were available.
The staff was mostly friendly, but the quality of the interactions was in general subpar considering the level of service promised. Several members of staff seemed unqualified to work in a 5-star hotel due to their attitude and behavior: some were bluntly unmotivated and clearly did not want to be there, others were not knowledgeable about items being served (e.g. wine), and one evening, after being seated at the bar we waited 20 minutes to give our order, but after being forgotten we decided to leave the bar.
The campus feeling
The asphalt paths and the boardwalk where you can’t swim
Amazing property and grounds! A lot of history and the area is beautifull!
Rooms could have been cleaner and the airco didnt work that great.. for over 1k a night you should be able to expect things like that to work.
Extremely beautiful hotel on the seaside, luxurious and very nice food. Rooms were very nice, spacious and clean. Very nice inside and outside pool and spa facilities. 10/10. No negative remarks, we all felt like royalty.
Location directly at sea, beachclub for hotelguests, white linnen tablecloths for breakfast, hotelroom which was exceptionally designed with eye for every detail, lovely bedlinnen, sushi bar, the regular bar etcetera.
If i had to think of one thing, the pool area was very large but not cosy. And the outdoor pool was heated too much. I prefer it a bit cooler. Oh. And I would suggest to offer some bites at the beachclub. There were none at all.
it was right on the beach so that is a plus. the grounds were nice even though there was a lot of construction. The bar was great with excellent food and drinks and great ambience. the breakfast was excellent and the staff was friendly.
the rooms were not as in the photos. in the photos it seemed like light and open rooms and the upgrade to junior quite then implied space and a nice decor. when in effect the junior suite was made up of small boxed spaces with only two chairs that were meant to be the junior part I suppose with the desk. the colors were subdued beige, nothing nice at all. the bathroom again two small rooms. so many doors that made the room overall feel really small. they put us there because we had dogs with us. But honestly, it is very disappointing to be downgraded (that’s what it felt like’ because of the dogs when we paid 100 Euro per night just for the dogs alone. so you pay extra and then you get the worse room. Also, we gad great food in the bar and the menu of room service had the same items. So we assumed that they would be of the same quality. Especially since the description did not mention a difference. But instead, it was a cheaper knockoff. We ordered the club sandwich and instead of the nice grilled chicken it was chicken bologna (Aufschnitt) and a weird cheese and it was cold. also there were peppered chips when we were looking forward to fries. Parking was advertised as free and then we had to pay. Also they charged us for mini bar drinks we never had. For a leading hotel it was disappointing.
I really like the facilities. The breakfast is great. The spa is chilled.
More vegetarian options on the roomservice menu. Still a lot of meat. The parking space for 25€/day isn’t worth it - car is dirty after its parked under trees. You need to invest here.
comfort and clean . friendly . nice breakfast.
the coffee shop cakes and coffee is bad in this hotel . so cheap testing but expensive !
