    Pros +

    • Beautiful location. Great view from our room. The room had four balconies that looked out to the forest, Breakfast was delicious. Very comfortable room with soft beds.
    • Peaceful location and a very alluring place. A UNESCO World Heritage site that lives up to its reputation. Excellent walks in the neighborhood forest. Spacious rooms and a functioning cafeteria. Very friendly staff and an excellent tour of the Yuso monastery. Worth every penny. This is a hidden gem of the Rioja region and though its a bit off the regular trails ~ its worth a visit to get a glimpse of the history of Spain. Wish we could have stayed at least a night longer and discovered the wine trails. Staying next door to monks is a super offbeat experience
    • Enjoyed the monastery and the area. The room was fine, with a great view of the hillside behind the monastery. Delicious local wine at dinner, carrying the Monastery's own label (it come from a vineyard and winemaker 6 kms away. At night, great peace and quiet!

    Cons -

    • My only complaint is regarding noise. Our room was directly above the parking area where there are garbage cans, and the garbage pickup was at 5am and very noisy. Although we loved the room and the view, I think next time I would want a different room maybe on the other side of the hotel.
    • The building needs some repairs, but the hospitality makes up for it. The restaurant can do with an upgrade, given that it's the only one within premises for some distance.
    • The beds were on the hard side. And the breakfast

Nice to be in a historical place surrounded by a beautiful landscape. The bedroom is big, the bed and linen are comfortable, and the staff is very nice and helpful.

Breakfast is a little disappointing, not so tasty, but the staff is very nice.

Wonderful staff, incredible location- worth the side trip on the Camino; a very nice break from albergues- highly recommend it!

Fantastic historical place and hotel. Nice restaurant with good food although opens a bit late at 08.30.

Considering the slightly remote location and low season, the accommodations seems a bit too pricy.

Authentic yet well renovated. Nice grounds in a great location and caring staff. Great value.

A beautiful modern room with an enormous bed, huge bathroom and windows looking out over two aspects. Dinner and breakfast were very good. This place is idyllic. Plenty of safe parking for my motorbike.

Location comfort of beds and the restaurant , ideal walking countryside

The room was lovely, amazing bathroom. Breakfast included…generous variety. Next to the monastery. Quiet restful location . Lovely drive to the location.

Restaurant staff didn’t speak much English, which is fine, but weren’t patient when we tried to communicate. Didnt matter too much. We did have to pay a small entry fee for the monastery tour..we didn’t mind. The tour was in Spanish, again ok as we are in Spain! But our google translate didn’t keep up!

    Far from any town action

Beautiful old building. Big rooms with big potential to make a good hotel. Have good wines and Cava.

    1. Unprofessional staff. Unhappy faces. The feeling that everyone was not happy that you are here from the beginning to the end of our stay. Different glasses on the same table for the same wine. I've got fork for fish at breakfast and so on. It's an absolute mess.2. Was super dirty everywhere. Plenty of rubbish on the grass in the garden cafe.3. No drinking water was left in the room. 4. Furnishings and all amenities are old or broken. It is 1 or 2 stars bad and ugly hotel. Not 4 stars, for sure.

Breakfast, location. Very paceful. Very nice place.

Noise cooler in the room (fan noise at nigth)

We loved the hotel and it's position and the peaceful location. We found the staff very friendly and accommodating to all our needs. When we arrived back at the hotel late one night we were able to order a hot meal in the cafeteria which was a life saver. The hotel is set out nicely with plenty of open space and a choice of seating areas and eating options ie; either the dining room or the cafeteria. The rooms are spacious with nice large bathrooms. We didn't go for the breakfast option as we don't like eating huge amounts at that time of the morning but we did have coffee and fresh orange juice in the cafeteria. We didn't try the dinner hall as we ate elsewhere but the menu looks good and we will try it next time. Checkout is a more civilised 12 mid-day.

There is not a lot to dislike about this place if you appreciate the peace and tranquil location and the unspoilt nature of this very historical location.

Great location, historical building, quiet place!

The old monastery is spectacular by its own right. Good location as a base for vineyard visits in the region. Good restaurant and bar with long opening hours. Flexible and friendly staff.

Some kind of mosquito nets could be added to the some of the balcony doors in the rooms, removable or fixed...

    Not a lot

Staff not helpful, very noisy at night rooms very dated Breakfast fair

    Beautiful old monastery. Very historic.

Tired looking. No menu for breakfast. Very little information on activities in the area.
