The amazing location of Hotel Skaftafell provides guests with stunning views of Iceland's highest mountain, Hvannadalshnjukur and the largest glacier in Europe, Vatnajökull. All rooms at Hotel Skaftafell have a work desk, satellite TV and a private bathroom with a shower. WiFi internet access is available. Staff can help arrange excursions to the beautiful surroundings with volcanoes, glaciers and a rich wildlife. À la carte dishes, as well as a buffet breakfast, are available in the hotel restaurant. The hotel has a fully licensed bar on the 2nd floor with magnificent glacier views. The glacier lagoon Jökulsárlón is only 40 minutes drive from Hotel Skaftafell. The hotel is located by the Route 1 road.

  • Excellent food. And obviously the location!
  • The location.
  • Location next to glacier

Cons -

  • The bathroom. The shower door was to enter was extremely small and no well kept.
  • The restaurant dinner was very expensive and not very good value, but there is no other options
  • The room is a bit outdated and could use some cosmetic renovations. The breakfast buffet could have better options. The restaurant could also be open later.
