Pros +
- Amazing breakfast buffet. Wonderful selection of delicious finnish foods, great assortment of foods including gluten-free and dairy-free options. It was the best breakfast buffet I've ever had. The location of the hotel is perfect, surrounded by amazing views, reindeer and hiking trails.
- The breakfast was incredible - healthy, plentiful, delicious, local. The dinners, (which were not included in hotel price) were exceptional! And the breads - all different kinds of freshly baked goods.
- Awesome location in the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park.Excellent breakfast. The halfboard meal is excellent value (€35) although it's also worth trying a few items from the a-la-carte menu.I visited in March whilst there was still a decent amount of snow.Good value ski (downhill and cross-country) rental and snowshoes, snowboards - all onsite.Closest ski lift is 1 minute away.Decente sized (dated) rooms, but the beds are small (narrow singles)The daily ski tours are worth doing (included as part of your stay at the hotel).Transfer from Kittila airport to the hotel takes around 1 hour.
Cons -
- The rooms are outdated, not attractive and nothing special. The sink had no soap.
- Next time I will hire a car to get to and from the hotel. Whilst the transfer service is good value (€30 each way, per person), they are not too flexible with the pick-up times - which is important if flying out from Kittila airport, and if you're waiting for your baggage to arrive on the carousel at the airport don't expect them to try to contact you or wait around for you.
- Nothing to complain about!

Very nice 'traditional' feel hotel and good parking facilities with wandering reindeer. The biggest surprise was the restaurant that served the best food we'd eaten in the Nordics. A la carte dinner was superb and the breakfast buffet excellent too.
Nothing to complain about!
Location was great, located within the national park. Great for hiking when there's no snow.
The rooms could do with a renovation.
The location is superb and the view from the hotel absolutely amazing. The breakfast was excellent and suitable for small children as well.
The absolute best thing is the location: the trails (Taivaskeron kierros and Palkaskeron kierros) start exactly from the hotel's car park. Also the hotel is surrounded by reindeer, it was amazing looking at them and taking pictures every time we went inside or outside of the hotel :) The room was very clean and spacious and had a great view. Breakfast was also very good, typically Finnish with many different options (you even get to make waffles!).
The only thing we didn't love was the restaurant. The food was very good but too expensive. Also, since the nearest café or supermarket is in Muonio (30km away), we were hoping we could buy something small for lunch to take with us to go hiking, but the options were very limited and not that good. So it would have been better to buy some snacks in advance for our hikes before arriving at the hotel.
Great location in the heart of the park. The hotel is beautiful. The sauna is fantastic. The breakfast is extremely rich and tasty. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was a very good meal, too.
The breakfast was simply amazing (including but by no means limited to the background music!). The location by the hiking trails was really covenient. I also liked the peaceful, laid-back atmosphere. In contrast to some other travelers, from a sustainability point of view, I appreciated the fact that the rooms are a bit “old-fashioned” and not everything is shiny and new - yet everything was perfectly clean. Overall, a really nice stopover after a Hetta-Palas hike.
Goog breakfast. The room was like from -80 or -90 but that was fine for me, my partner and my dog.
The hotel is in pure nature. Wonderful landscape and peaceful area. Reindeers guaranteed.
Hotel is very old and simple equipped. Good for hikers and nature lovers, but no bike rental or similar available.
Room was simple, efficient, nice, clean and basically all you need for an overnight stay. The views on the fjell were amazing and reindeer were scattered around the hotel so the Lapland experience is definitely complete. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with plenty to choose from with local and international tastes. Plus points for the waffle machine.
Our room was next to one of the hallway doors and the opening/closing of it resonated a bit through the walls. Nothing terrible, and I had a good night of sleep but if you're sensitive for it, maybe ask for a room more in the middle of the hallway. This could also simply be fixed by the hotel if they would adjust the door stoppers.
Breakfast, great! Great atmosphere overall. Loved the fact that a sauna was available in the building. Views up to Pallastunturi were amazing.
Maybe the price.
The hotel is situated in the national park and gives good access to hiking trails (or skiing depending the season). The staff was very welcoming, and the restaurant was excellent. We had a very good evening meal with lots of local options, and the choice at the breakfast buffet (included in our stay) was excellent, again with lots of local content.
Ok to say for a day or so but longer no.
Room was too small, door was difficult to open, general repairs needed, very limited lunch options unless you drive to a different location.......
The location was beautiful and the breakfast was nice. Sauna was a plus.
It was not the most modern room but it had everything that it needed to have.
Excellent location at the end of the Hetta-Pallas trek, very good breakfast, excellent food in the restaurant, sauna is hot (usually in hotels it is not hot enough), the staff is helpful, direct bus service from Kolari railway station (limited times), food truck outside
Interior is outdated, the shower in the room is tiny, the mobile airconditioning unit is really loud (but good that it is provided)
Atmosphere, friendly staff. Generous breakfast. Coffee was a bit mild to our taste, but otherwise really nice.
Breakfast was outstanding. There was a large selection of different options available. Room was very simple but it was adequate for someone who is visiting Pallas for outdoor activities. The hotel sauna is also very good in my opinion. Nice way to relax after each day of hiking.
The location was excellent. the stuff was friendly. the restaurant had amazing breakfast and the food in a la carte menu was delicious. Sauna was so good after skiing day.
The ventilation wasn’t working correctly and we couldn’t open the window. So there were problems with fresh air in the room. Could be improved
