- The total package of location, excellent room great restaurant made our stay very good plus the staff were great
- Upon arrival around 10.30 PM (a bit later as expected due to train delay), I noticed the front door of the hotel/restaurant was already closed and locked despite that my late arrival was accepted by the hotel. There was a phone number posted on the front door, so I dialed it. The phone number was not working. I tried multiple times to make sure I was calling the right number, but the call was always immediately disconnected. I started looking around and thinking about how to get in touch. I had the great idea to have a look on their website and on booking.com, mentioning both a phone number which was different than the one on the door. So I dialed that number and heard a phone ringing inside, which was clearly at the reception desk or in the restaurant. After a while it stopped ringing (apparently at that thime the line was forwarded to 'the night receptionist'). I tried this multiple times as well, but still nothing happened. My last personal attempt to get in touch with the hotel staff, was by sending them a text message via the booking.com application and Facebook Messenger. However, I got no answer that night.I decided to contact booking.com helpdesk by phone and explained them the issue. They were very helpfull and tried to get in touch with the owners as well (meanwhile I heard that phone ringing inside again). They've sent them an email and if there would be no reaction within 45 minutes, then they would take further steps. After 45 minutes, I recontacted the booking.com helpdesk. As expected, the had received no answer to their email. Since there is no other hotel in Domazlice that claims to have a 24h reception service, they arranged me an alternative hotel in Plzen, which is 45 minutes by car (and 2.500 CZK of taxi costs as it was already past midnight, of course to be paid by myself). Rebooking to the other hotel cost me nothing, so credits to booking.com service.
- Room was nice heated.
Cons -
- i had no problems.
- The morning after, the hotel replied to my message via the booking.com application. They apologized and said that they had been waiting for me. However, I was not informed about the fact that they had given up waiting on the spot (despite the in advance accepted late check in) and had gone home, without sending me any instructions on how to get in late at night. They were asking if I dialed the correct number. As I said, I entered the phone number multiple times, manually. The number they mentioned in the message via the booking.com application that morning was slightly different than the number I dialed. I asked them to verify if the phone number on the front door was the same as the number they gave me through the app, but I've never received any answer to this question, which makes me suspect that there is an incorrect number on the front door. They also mentioned, as noted earlier, that I would have let the phone I heard inside ringing, it should be forwarded to the night reception. Anyway, booking.com service staff and myself tried this with no result. And that makes two phone numbers that didn't work, causing a lot of trouble for me.Summary: to avoid if you expect to arrive late.
- The food was not good. Under average of a Czech standard .

Room was nice heated.
The food was not good. Under average of a Czech standard .
A friendly hotel at a very good price. Good sized rooms. Plenty of wardrobe space. settee in room. Good breakfast included in our deal. Right in the centre of town for all the interesting little arcaded shops.
Bed in room 1 a little soft for us. Also, and this may just be a personal thing, we didn’t think the evening restaurant food was as good as when we stayed there last year although the staff are lovely.
The dinner was delicious. The room was big and had high ceiling.
No kettle.
The hotel has a lovely ambience with attentive staff. Good breakfast and good restaurant food. Comfortable bed with summerweight duvet- good attention to detail
Our room (5) had a settee, which improves the comfort a lot, but the light above it only operates when the overhead fan is on. The other thing, which the hotel could complain to the police about, is that our Friday night sleep was interrupted until after dawn by drunken revellers shouting in the street ouside.
The location is great - directly on the main square. There is a restaurant downstairs but that is something positive. We ate there and in the evenings, it didn't interfere with our sleep in any way. Rooms quiet. I would happily stay there again.
I can't think of anything.
Helpful staff that arranged our laundry to be cleaned for 200 CZK! Large room and great location.
Breakfast could be improved.
Super nice cozy room, great furnishing style.
Sometimes it gets very noisy outside the hotel in the night.
The staff was really helpful, they tried to open the window for us and were full of understanding for our demand.
The room was stuffy, it was difficult to open the only roof window to get some fresh air.
Excellent location in the heart of Domazlice. Beautiful historical building. Traditional Czech style full breakfast - both cold and hot items including local cakes
Historical building has some limitations like missing elevator or aircon.
Great Hosts, Great Location. Would stay there again.
