Hotel Karolinger Hof

Greeting by the lunchtime staff and the provision of an excellent lunch.

Breakfast service was a little slow. Perhaps having a menu to indicate that hot food option was available as we were only made aware of this when we saw another table being served with hot food.

The staff was friendly and welcoming. Great breakfast!

The front desk person at time of arrival didn't share or explain the process of how to get back in the building after hours, which is essential since the front door is locked in the overnight hours.

Our room did not meet our pre-agreed upon special request. We were disappointed. Nobody apologized. We were confused with other guests. The check in time states after 14:00. We arrived ( as announced) at 14:45. Nobody was there. The reception was closed and confused when I called to register our arrival. The wifi code had expired. There were no water bowls for the dog. No cups for the children to.drink.water out of. Wine glasses for water. I asked for the invoice to emailed to me, which we still haven't received. After check out we had to.drive back to pay for the dogs stay( despite him not being catered for). Staff were unfamiliar on how to process the booking.com payment.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a reasonable size and quite clean. The location was great, only a 5 minute walk to the town center, and it was easy to visit the region from there. There was a sufficient variety of choices for breakfast - muesli, freshly cooked eggs, breads and cheeses etc.

The only problem was the lumpy pillows on the bed, (although we forgot to ask for alternatives.) And replenishing the breakfast supplies was a bit slow at times.

This was one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed! The property was easy to locate across from the railroad station. Despite that, it was very quiet. The breakfast options were great and included delicious jam they make on site. It was a wonderful location for visiting Lorsch Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage site. If you are looking for a quiet, clean, small hotel that also supports individuals with special challenges, this is the place.

The room was nicely renovated, faced the city and the rear parking lot. Very comfortable, had everything I needed.

The spacious room and bathroom which were both spotless.The comfortable beds.The breakfast - an excellent buffet. The easy and safe parking (for both car and bikes), right behind the hotel. The self-service fridge in the corridor.

One of our favorite hotels when travelling in Europe by car. Good location in a small town close to Autobahn, service minded personnel and spacious rooms.
