    Pros +

    • What you see is what you get: a typical franchise hotel in the train station neighbourhood. Many little features that make the Ibis become an Ibis “styles” such as decoration, a machine that prints short stories.. Breakfast was ok.
    • The staff really make the difference at this hotel and specifically Arussiak who was on reception when we arrived. Not only did she make us welcome she offered us drinks and seats while we were waiting for one of our rooms to be finished, as we were a little early. While waiting she told us about local areas in between serving other guests who she really made feel welcome as well. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms very clean and we had a very good nights sleep especially after driving for over 5 hours. Breakfast was very good as well.
    • Functional and ideal location. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Great breakfast.

    Cons -

    • Rooms were cleaned very late in the afternoon. No kettle in the room (but 24/7 coffee machine in the lobby!). The breakfast room had no views or daylight. For those who stay longer (I did) it offers very little oxygen, and I would think Saint-Etienne has better offerings at that price (not sure it actually does).
    • The reception area was a little smaller than expected and if other guests arrived who might have needed to wait as well it could have been quite crowded.
    • Bedside tables design not so practical.

Everything was ok. The room was comfortable as the expected level based on the hotel description and rating. It was conveniently located close to the stations about about 10-15 min walk to the center

    Nothing in particular.

I like the bedroom in general and the decoration.

The breakfast was not well organized, too much people and few staff. We couldn't have a dish and cutlery, only a bowl. Also some food was missing.

    location

wifi signal very weak, dropping off all the time, strong smell of paint in room and throughout hotel, very low light/dark in bathroom, undergrounds parking smells bad of fish from adjacent restaurant. Paid for 5 nights in through Booking.com. I left the morning after the first night because I could not work without wifi and could not handle the strong paint smell. The manager would not refund ANY part of my payment. I have never been treated so unfairly.

Great location, right by the Chateaucreux train station and tram stop. The beds are so comfy and big!Breakfast was ok, pretty much what you expect from a hotel breakfast. We preferred going to a local boulangerie:)

The hotel was near to a very good restaurant I like to go to when I am in St Etienne; the breakfast choices were OK,

I travelled very light; avoiding take things that may be confiscated at the border such as tooth past - thre was none in the bathroom.
