small and essential room but clean and tidy, the shower in the bathroom does not leak nor flood as it is common in hotels

reception was unmanned when we arrived, although it must be said we were 45 minutes late

The hotel location was good, being right next to the canal. Outside seating and the bonus of a swimming pool.The staff were very friendly, and the food was excellent as you would expect from a Logis Hotel.

The room and hotel deco was looking tired and needed a revamp.The main issue being the bathroom. The toilet was adjacent to the door. Very difficult to open and close the bathroom door as it needed to be forced passed the toilet. You could not close the door with the toilet seat down. The shower curtain was also mouldy.On the plus side, the bedroom did have aircon..

The whole Hotel was very grubby and my room had a horrible over powering smell. I couldn't wait to leave.

Simple but comfortable relais, the dinner was excellent, location for us was perfect, bicycle storage was good and the team were friendly.

The outside areas were not as good as shown in the photographs.

Digoin is just in Burgundy, and is a former busy canal junction. These days it is a little tired as a town, and the Relais du Canalou is similarly a little tired. One of or rooms had to be changed as the electricity had failed, but the staff were helpful and understanding, the other was definitely 'economical' in size!. The hotel is a little away from the town centre and on a busy main road which may affect some of the front rooms. It sufficed as an overnight stop, the water was hot and the restaurant food simple but really quite good. Our motorcycles wer parked in a secluded area away fom prying eyes.

The hotel could do with a good make-over, but the area would probably not support it.

A good place for a stop for travellers by car or boat. Very close to the historic canal-bridge and quite easy to find. It had a convenient parking lot at the back and an adjoining restaurant with good local food and wines served by friendly waiters. Breakfast was also good. The room was small and quite basic but comfortable and with everything we needed. I loved the harbour-themed decor.

The reception is not open all day and so we had to check in relatively late at 18:00. I would have preferred less use of plastic-packed sample-sized pieces of cheese and jams for breakfast.

Great overnight stop - comfortable, friendly, good value for room and restaurant. Digoin interesting town, once a major ceramics manifacturer, canal acqueduct over the Loire.

Surprised the pool was not in swimmable condition.

Great location near a nice walk along the canal. The staff are friendly and the local food in the restaurant is fabulous.
