    Cons -

    • We had a terrible stay due to a large group checking in from 10pm onwards. The group was uncontrolled in terms of noise and with us in the Manor house attached to the reception area, the noise was unbearable despite us requesting a quiet room. We were assured this room would be the quietest and staff could then directly control the noise. However, this was not the case at all. We called reception 6 times and went down twice in an attempt to reduce the noise, but to no avail. The noise subsided around 12:45am only to be woken by loud crashing doors throughout the night. Staff or guests arrived loudly at 05:45am and resulted in a very poor/stressful experience for us. On top of this, there was no hot water in the morning, the air conditioner did not work and the fridge made knocking sounds throughout the night. We cancelled our second night stay as a result. The manager was very apologetic which we appreciated and offered a full refund of our accomodation, which we accepted.
    • Noise from the bathroom extractor fan from the next door unit was annoying.Aircon did not workTv did not workNot enough milk sachets in the room for coffee at night
    • Room should include a hair dryer.

Very nice breakfast. Good selection and choice

We unfortunately had seats that were covered in jam. We swoped out and the ohters were clean.

    Adequate

Lampshade broken. No glass for drinking water. Light globe above mirror not working, asked twice for a hairdryer. Bath towel had a huge hole in it. Noisy electric unit outside unit 33.

If I could give Selborne 100 stars, I would! The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts and dinners were outstanding. We stayed in one of the villas which was very luxurious with a private patio. We are definitely coming back!

Staff friendly and helpful and changed our Room when a security lock was faulty on patio.

Restaurant was closed at night while we were there, and no alternative as clubhouse also was closed after 6pm

The room I was booked in was very clean and welcoming. I enjoyed everything about the place...

Parking is a short distance from the rooms, WI fi was not working

Breakfast was exceptional! Staff was always available & willing to assist.Gardens are lush, well maintained.

Little maintenance issues such us the wobbly fan or stained tiles in the bathroom. Not major faults though. We were a bit disappointed on our last evening, the visitors on the ground floor had a braai! (Not allowed). It made our room smell, they made a noise & played music until the late hours & we struggled to sleep. Should have called reception to complain, but didn't want to come across as the "badies". Perhaps a suggestion to have security do walk abouts just to observe & check every now & again.

The Staff were amazing.Derrick and Amanda went that extra mile. The food at Selborne restaurant... Chefs kissBreakfast buffet was exceptional.

Activities are very limited. We had to leave the estate to explore.

I appreciate the remaining patches of indigenous KZN Coastal vegetation and associated biodiversity especially to the avifauna and butterflies. Love Pennington and don't miss out on the best coffee shake at the restaurant on the beach ??

Cold dirty water in the bath, no bath plug and the totally useless water heating apparatus which sounds like a crashing helicopter. Totally spoilt the tranquility. The road noise from the highway is always present

Loved the vintage style. The staff were really helpful & amazing, especially front of staff Dlamini. The rooms were cozy and spacious. Beds were really comfortable. The Breakfast was perfect. The musky smell, adds to vintage theme. Splendid golf course but must be done with a cart.

The door locking system, that was a bit of a headache

Beautiful grounds and golf course. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely Old Worlde charm.

We had two maintenance complaints during our three day stay, both of which we reported on the first day. At the time of checking out, neither of the issues had been attended to. Asked for the manager who was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful, which was a huge disappointment.for such an establishment.

Our stay was great especially because of a particular staff member (Amanda) she made our stay so delightful, her demeanor was exceptional she went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable and fun as could be just because of her I give the place a solid 10/10 keep up with the good work. In regards to the place, location, food and activities I would definitely recommend it gives the Bundus vibes..

Rooms are poorly maintained. Expose electrical wires and much more. Not the 4* they once were.

Management has not bothered to reply to our numerous emails expressing our disappointment.Definately won't be visiting again.

The location and property are a beautiful, tranquil place. The staff are outstanding and service excellent. The room we stayed in was super large and had a lovely patio surrounded by beautiful gardens. I loved the beach club. Awesome to go to the beach with a secure access, and the pool area was awesome. Never mind that we did not have to look for parking at the beach as the beach club has its own parking and your vehicle is safe behind a locked gate with security.

My only complaint is that the bathroom needs attention. It is clean but old and an eyesore compared to the rest of the surroundings.

We enjoyed a fantastic weekend away at the picturesque Selborne Golf Estate, the accommodation was comfortable, the staff were very friendly, the breakfasts included in the room rate were excellent, all round a good experience!

I liked everything about the property, the serenity , privacy, and the friendly staff. The chalet needs a revamp ,The grout on tiles does not look good at all. Bathroom taps and tub need attention. Other than that, everything was great.
