City Lodge Etosha

You can place your orders at their restaurant and then go to your room to relax. When the food is ready, they will knock at your door and lead you to your table.

Friendly staff, large clean rooms with good air conditioning.

The room is spacious but no wifi , no DSTV , bathroom tile broken can cause injury , bath tup is perfect very nice but as soon as you let the water out it is al over the floor.The fitting is also leaking , the water taps is not properly secured leak water , towel holder for small towels is loose.The toilet is placed in the corner next to the water basin .You need to sit skew on the toilet which is not good.Shower is working fine.

This place is unsafe due to gate left open for day visitors for the swimming pool , the day visitor is taking over on the pool and the bar and late at night they order food from kitchen so your security gate is constantly open.

Good location from the north of the park. Super friendly staff.

It felt like a prison in a not so nice area.The complete property smelled like food.

Normal accommodation but the cooking is quite good. The staff is well prepared but more than in other accommodations.

Close to the town and shops etc.

We wished to change our plans and the hostess was not moving on anything requested - watch the small print!

Safe place, good parking place, traditional food on menu, good breakfast.

The water in the swimming pool did not seem clear

Friendliness of the staff

The pool was dirty -> we both got sick from the water. The restaurant forgot a dish we ordered.

Staff were really welcoming, breakfast was good with a variety of options. It was great to have safe carparking facilities as well as a cool pool to jump into after a full days driving inside Etosha.

Very clean, big beds, bath room, hot water and a big swimming pool. Everything was fine!

Friendly staff, do extra by warming take aways and supplying crockery and cutlery. Provide directions and tend to those who are in distress. Never seen anyone without a friendly demeanor.

Cost of food at restaurant has skyrocketed since October 2021.

Very friendly & hospitable staff - nothing was too onerous for them. Also, an exceptionally comfortable bed!

The property location was not easy to find

Lovely, attentive staff who were willing to go the extra mile for us. Great location (15 mins drive to Etosha King Nehale gate and 1h to Etosha Von Linquest (Namutomi) gate, which gives direct access to the South East of the park). Secure parking and nice pool.

We had a nice time : friendly staff, nice swimming pool, comfortable room, fast wifi, very good breakfast.And the restaurant on site cooked a great dinner.

A nice and cosy hotel. We all felt wellcomed. Great staff. Restaurant and bar service available even afterhours. An excellent value for money relationship. A place to be back on my next travel to Etosha.

Parry and the rest of the staff were so lovely! They waited for us even for the dinner and they’ve been very flexible with breakfast.

The staff at City Lodge Boutique Hotel are all lovely and incredibly helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and are cleaned daily. We were very graciously given a free upgrade to a suite for one of our rooms, and it was perfect as it gave us plenty of room to help organise things before each day and a private space to enjoy time with our family in the evenings.

While the food and drinks provided are tasty and well prepared, the restaurant's menu is too large for off season demand. We tried ordering a number of items which were unavailable.

We had the king suite and the room was huge and very clean. The shower had good water pressure in the mornings and the staff were very friendly. Despite a very long wait for the food it was amazingly delicious. Breakfast was also a good spread. Only 23kms from Etosha’s King Nehale gate - it is very good value for money and an air conditioned respite during midday.

It’s slightly run down but as noted above, very clean.

The facilities were clean and accommodations offered everything expected for the price. the bed and room was small, but very comfortable.

Wifi was hardly useable. Our room was right next to the bar/restaurant so it was pretty noisy until 8-9 pm. Then a bar down the street played music until 2 am, and the hotel acts as an echo chamber so the bass shook the room all night. I understand that the staff here has no control over this, but it certainly affected our sleep.

A very good stopover for or base from where to explore the Etosha Pan Nature Reserve as it is close to the King Nehale Lya Mpingana Gate.Once again, staff was friendly and helpful.Pedi (hope my spelling is right) is a real star as was the barman.We asked for a room with two single beds even though we booked a double - two retired brothers traveling together - and we were upgraded as a room was available at no extra cost. It is things like this that makes for good customer service!The food was good and reasonable even though it took some time, but we were in no hurry and the barman went out of his way to get the TV working without us asking but just enquiring about the latest world news.

The pool needs a bit of tender loving care.Nothing serious but it is starting to peel and the deckchairs need a lick of varnish.There is not much to do in the town itself but you are in the wrong place if you want entertainment so close to one of the most beautiful national parks in the world and this hotel is a million times better than staying in the government run chalets in the park itself.
