Pros +
- The staff here was wonderful and it was so close to the train station, which took us everywhere we needed to go! The breakfast in the morning was really great as well.
- Our stay at Hotel Schönegg in Seefeld was nothing short of spectacular! The hotel’s location is simply stunning, surrounded by gorgeous scenery that made every moment picturesque. The rooms were immaculately clean, providing a cozy and refreshing retreat after a day of exploring.
- Location, location, location. Swimming in the river, great walk for our dog. Good customer service. Strong sense of atmosphere, and sense of going back in time. 0n the whole, we loved the hotel.
Cons -
- There are no elevators so if you bring a lot of luggage you will be lugging it up the stairs. Also, no cleaning in between the days we were there. Not sure why, but our room basically stayed messy. It would have been nice to come back to a clean room.
- Our room ( a small double) was a bit airless, (a fan was provided but air conditioning would have been more effective) The evening meal not so enjoyable. Lovely soup, but my main meal was mostly lettuce and a huge amount of cold sausage. I had expected an interesting salad with good dressing with a sprinkling of sausage.
- Room was slightly stuffy, but that’s just due to the weather on late August.

The hotel and restaurant staff were all exceptionally helpful and attentive. They truly made it a great stay.
Room was slightly stuffy, but that’s just due to the weather on late August.
The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the public rail line to get to Konstanz, which was convenient, but the staff didn't tell us this. We had to look it up ourselves. There is also a ferry stop outside of the hotel, which sits on the bank of the Rhine, but it only departs infrequently and again, the staff was unhelpful in clarifying which ferry lines would fit our needs.
Phew, where to begin? To start, I would have expected more from a hotel that costs nearly 250 euro a night. The room was very small-if you stay here, avoid being assigned to Room 50. There is no ventilation and limited lighting in the bathroom- showering in the dark isn't fun. The room overlooks the courtyard, which is also where diners are seated at the hotel restaurant, including dinner parties and group celebrations that go on until 11pm some nights. On top of the very expensive cost, if you drive here, you have to pay 8 francs a day for unsecured, unreserved parking in an uncovered lot. I traveled with a dog, and they charged 20 francs a day for cleaning in addition to the room cost, but didn't see any difference in the quality of the cleaning. Speaking of the cleaning staff, they stole cans we planned to turn in for pfand. The hotel staff tried to excuse this behavior by saying that there is no pfand in Switzerland, but they ignored the fact that Germany is just a 5 minute drive away. I live in Germany and didn't appreciate being treated like I might be ignorant of this. Further, there were days where they didn't even take out all the garbage. Lastly, while the breakfast was fine, the food was left uncovered and flies were all over it. At one point, a guest even sneezed over the bread baskets, but there was no staff there to mind the food and hygiene. I really wanted to like this hotel, but I cannot recommend it.
Location, great patio dining on river. Restaurant.
Limited storage for clothes, one old creaky cabinet in which one of the doors would not open. Nowhere to hang clothes except coat stand. NO ELEVATOR. Very expensive restaurant.
Beautiful boutique hotel. lovely rooms. wonderful staff. superb breakfast
There was a very warm and personal welcome. Even though I arrived late the Gentleman very kindly waited for me and ensured everything was Ok for me.
Very nice hotel with beautiful room facing the river and great restaurant.
Room itself had a perfect renovation style, good furniture, and in front of the lake, very spacious and chic.Breakfast was good, dinner in a hotel restaurant is also possible by arrangement in advance.
There is not much going on outside the hotel, here you'd better come by car. There are parking places for extra fee.
Great for biking
Not enough locally , shops , bistros etc
Super place along the marvellous Rhine in the exceptional Gottlieben
Room super warm
Rally nice, close to the lake. Everything was perfect, the room was really clean, breakfast was perfect and the view of the room (lake view ? combined with the silence was gold... beautiful)
very nice bar/lounge area with view to the river/lake and outside terrace.
the rooms and specially bathroom need a renovation. everything is very very simple .... bed is uncomfy
Beautiful location. Very old hotel. Interesting.
No elevator. Walking three stairs. Flooding next to hotel.
Superb little hotel with classic Swiss service... excellent of course. We will be back again for a few nights next time.
The room was quite warm. And with outside diners, there was quite a bit of noise if we wanted the window open.
Location is great, staff is very friendly and solution oriented! Specially Pablo at the reception, great guy! Food is really tasty.
-Spectacular, very high water leven of the lake-Boutique Hotel, room number 60 with lake view was quite big-Even a thunderstorm prohibit us from open air evening meal, the food in the Restaurant was very good
-The room was not so quiet as expected, because the window with the mosquito net had a direct view to the garden reataurant.
We loved loved loved the location - quiet, near the nature reserve, but close to the city (we walked to Konstanz, and it was a very pleasant 40 min relaxed walk
Breakfast was very good. Location is beautiful right on the river....outdoor terrace in nice weather. We did not book a room facing the river but our view looked on the side at another hotel (not in use) and was very quiet and peaceful. Bathroom was decent size....very pink! Good shower. Safe bike storage but not protected from weather.
We had lots of room to spread out and there were two chairs but you couldn't pull them up to the desk. No common area in the hotel indoors.
