Anstatthotel Affoltern am Albis - self-check-in

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

The check-in process was a nightmare; cell phone tower on top of hotel, preventing good sleep; blinds don't close; stove not working on last day; no window screen and lots of flying bugs in room; room light not working, so had to use stove light.

Not cosy - high ceilings, converted office building. Utilitarian to the extreme. Parking was problematic

Beds can be improved. The matress is very thin and goes below the bed's border which makes very unconfortbale to sleep.

The simplicity and at the same ime the efficiency.

Again a very nice stay in this hotel, good sized room, great shower and nice small kitchen with refrigerator comes in very practical when you do not want to eat out all the time!

Room was clean and comfortable with private Kitchen , toilet and free car parking.

It was an affordable option for visiting Zurich. Our dog enjoyed the pet bed that was provided. The room was clean and had a kitchen with everything needed to cook. Self check in worked with no problem.

The water of the shower runs out o the base cause a flood. Lots of trash in the outside bin. The lift doesnt work.

Self check-in did not work (the app did not show any room keys), many people had to wait for someone to come and let people in.

The apartment had all the facilities needed for a short stay (including microwave, kettle and fridge). Everything was virtually new, spotlessly clean and in full working order. The area was quiet. Affoltern, though only a small village, has all of shops, banks and places to eat. The apartment was 10 minutes walk from Affoltern railway station with usually 4 trains per hour to Zurich and 2 trains per hour to Zug (although due to work on the tracks the service to Zurich was suspended during my stay).

Not so much a didn't like but an FYI for future guests. Entry into the building/into the apartment is using a smartphone app - you slide a slider in the app and that briefly unlocks the door. Into the apartment was fine, there was wi-fi coverage outside the apartment door (and I'd been pre-emailed the wi-fi password); into the building through required 4G/5G data as the wi-fi didn't reach outside the building itself. Also a couple of 'first world' problems - there was not a bedside light and it was not possible to turn the main room light out whilst in bed; the apartment is not air conditioned (though that's probably only an issue during a few weeks in the high summer!)

Needed mobile phone as torch to walk up to hotel of an evening as road was so dark.There were 3 hangers in the wardrobe between 2 of us!The towels were very thin and rough.

Cleanness and quietness

The room was long and bed arrangement was not for a couple. No shampoo in bathroom

Pros: cheap place to stay, quiet location except when neighboring guests awoke us at 2 am due to bickering and yelling for about 15 minutes, and safe location.

Cons: Stayed in room 15. Uncomfortable bed, has a kitchen, but with incompatible pans to cook with on an induction stove top, there is no hair dryer, minimal outlets, no parking available, had to park in someone else's reserved spot and hoped nobody would tow or do damage to rental car, this location requires a car to drive to it, I would not rely on public transportation, and the mini fridge is loud and makes popping noises. I would not recommend anyone to stay here if plan to cook food.

Ok for a night stay, would not stay longer. Not enough power sockets near the bed, just 1 night stand and small (but very new) bathroom.

We enjoyed our stay for the most part unfortunately We got locked out of the building and had to ring the emergency number of the hotel as our swipe on my phone stopped working, we had to have a new card made with the lady on the phone who was very helpful. Also the pillows are way to soft and bedlinen not great, may I suggest putting cotton linen on the duvet and more solid pillows please.The apartment was spotless and clean.Kay
