    Pros +

    • Great location, owners very friendly.
    • The room was an ok size with nice decor. The surrounding neighborhood, although with very narrow streets and limited parking, was cute. Beds were comfy.
    • Excellent little place in beautiful surroundings. Delightful lady host. Food not cheap, but we’ve all got to make a living, right?

    Cons -

    • When I arrived no help with luggage.
    • We booked the spot during a heat wave in Spain because the room claims to have ac yet it does not. The staff didn't seem to care that my pregnant wife would have a hard time or that their info is false advertising. They said they'd bring a fan but never did. After an hour, I came down again, they gave me an industrial one from their kitchen. It was way too loud and strong. They said to open the window yet there was a super loud concert right outside of the hotel. A few days before the booking they messaged saying there would be some loud music so if we want we can cancel. Such small mountain villages are all sold out that close to the date. The music went on from 1-5am... It was a long hot night.
    • Perhaps because it was early season (8th May) the breakfast was very limited because of my need to depart by 9am, but the host left bread, butter, coffee and jam so I could help myself before leaving.

    The place is super nice!!

The bed. I saw that nobody said anything but the bed of room two was really uncomfortable, we couldn’t really sleep and in the morning we had a bad backache. It was a pity because all the rest was great!

Lovely staff in a peaceful country location. Our room had a little garden of its own and the garden round the pool was a great place to sit with natural shade.

This hotel is set in a tiny village which is full of rustic charm. With amazing views of the Picos de Europa mountains. It has a pool and the staff are absolutely fantastic and very attentive to all your needs. Highly recommended.

    Nothing, it was fabulous

We were at a Conference in an adjacent village, and the Verdiago seemed to be the most modern in the area. However, I was left with mixed feelings about our experience there. Because we were stopping four nights we had booked the largest / best room at the property. There is no other way of saying this - we were 'bounced' to a cheaper room, because the resident in the room we had booked had decided to stay on for a few days more. So... we were given a room with no mention of the room change and would no doubt have been charged the rate for the best room if I had not created a mega-fuss. Eventually I spoke to the Hotel owner on the phone (lives somewhere else) and she eventually agreed that we had been given the wrong room. Her excuse was that the room descriptions on Booking.com are all the same. This is not so, because obviously the best room has a different title to the three others. Apparently I was the first person to spot this difference! So the owner gave us the appropriate room rate (viz. a reduction). So that others do not fall into this trap. There are four guest rooms. The room immediately at the top of the stairs is the best / largest room and has a balcony. (identified as Room 1). The other three rooms are then accessed via the corridor. The breakfast is very basic (reminded me of the ones I used to get in Parador Hotels 50 years ago), although other dishes are on offer. Another point to bear in mind is that the lady who manages this hotel is the one who should be paid for all food and drink consumed. This means that you end up with two bills. It might be best to pay for food and drink as you go along, because our final bill for food and drink had several errors on it, that were not in our favour! However, the Hotel is clean and is well looked after by the on-site staff, but the whole episode concerning being 'bounced' made this a very unpleasant experience.

Being 'bounced' from the room we had booked! There was no excuse for this as we had booked the room seven months in advance!

Beautiful, comfortable, lovely views and staff so friendly and helpful. Beautifully built to a high standard using both modern and traditional styles.

The dining room was closed but we were provided served a burger fries and salad. We agreed that it was the best one we have ever tasted. So it turned out ok for us.

Only suitable for mountain goats. Couldn’t get motorbikes up the VERY steep track. Shingle car park was full anyway. No mention of unsuitability for less abled people (my partner struggled up the hill and fell on his way back to the road). No staff available to help. Had to find a different hotel for the night!

Authentic rustic exteriors and tasteful modern interior.Beautiful view of the village and The Valley from my bedroom balcony.

Beautiful boutique hotel, fitting in with rustic style of the village but modern and cool on the inside. View from my balcony was stunning. Staff were warm and friendly. Much better value than some of the shabby offerings up on the coast. Would love to return.

Can’t think of a single thing

A beautifully refurbished stone house, amazing attention to detail in the renovations. The pool was amazing! The staff were lovely, if a bit chaotic!!!Amazing find in the middle of nowhere, excellent for some R&R

The quality and decoration of the room was very good

There seemed to be no-one around of any authority, the staff were young and local and pleasant, but we felt there was not a figure of authority to take responsibility

beautifully restored and tastefully decorated property.Big shout out to the bar and restaurant manager Christian. Very knowledgeable and friendly guy

very steep gravelly driveway, which was difficult on motorbikes. unmade path to swimming pool, all the sun beds were broken . Issue at 2nd night dinner where burgers were under done for our liking and got sent back, only to reappear exactly the same! Problem at check out, as they wanted to charge me €150 more than stated on booking.com. Difficult to sort out as very little English was spoken.

Full of rustic charm in a stunning location. A superbly restored property and the staff were both helpful and friendly. It is clear that a massive amount of thought and care has gone into the interior of the property.

The signage to locate the Hotel could be clearer but wasn't a significant issue. A little disorganised when paying the bill and any charges accrued during oir stay. These really were minor issues.
