La Fornal

What a beautiful hidden gem in a lovely, quiet little village. The staff are amazing, nothing was too much trouble. The food was great, the breakfast especially. The room and four-poster bed are comfortable and traditional. This is our first time here, but we will be returning. We highly recommend this beautiful hotel. In addition, a real bonus was private parking directly behind the hotel.

There wasn't anything to dislike.

Cute location, cute house, cute room! We had a great sleep because we could block out all daylight with blinds. Even though the walls and doors were thin it was such a quiet place so no sound disturbed our sleep. I loved the shower gels, lotions etc from Rituals…!

This is our second time here in one week . We made shore we stayed here again on our return journey from Italy to Spain. It is a romantic place

family run and it was so perfect, so friendly. fabulous foods and room . would definitely go back again xx

The Hotel far exceeded our expectations. The Hotel generally is superb, yet small ( boutique ), and attention to details extremely well thought through. Rooms were spacious and thought had been put into the design and furnishings. The staff were informative and engaging and the food was excellent. We will definitely stay at la Fornal again !!!

The rooms, the breakfast, the location. It was perfect and will be back in November.

Everything was perfect

This place is very nice, and the staff are extremely helpful, doing everything to make your stay more enjoyable. After a long day driving from Germany in heavy traffic, it was great to come to this small quiet village, and be greeted by the staff. The room was nice and the beds comfortable, we had a meal in the evening and breakfast in the morning. Everything very good. The manager suggested that we go see a small medieval village nearby, which we did the next day. Definately recommended if you are in the area. We will come here again next time we are in the area.

It's such a charming hotel with lovely friendly and helpful staff. Whoever designed and furnished the hotel has a wonderful eye for detail and the same can be said for the meals which were a delight. Good food, well cooked and beautifully presented.We also loved the village of Terrades which we have driven past on many occasions. Lovely old streets full of interesting houses, pots of plants and it is so very, very cared for and clean.

Hot water took a long time to come through in the bathroom.

Service : an example of excellent hospitality. Infrastructure: large comfortable rooms. Interior decoration well done. Very good breakfast.

Great hospitality and helpfulness of the hosts, Joseph and his father. The room and premise was also well kept and clean.

From the arrival up to the moment of departure we absolutely loved this place. It's a family run business. The dad greats you, shows you where to park and helps with the suitcases - this all in a very friendly manner. You just feel at home from the first minute.The room is immaculate: beautifully decorated, nice linen, comfy bed, lovely smelling room and so is the bathroom and its separately toilet. It you stay here having dinner at their restaurant is a MUST. The tables are nicely set with white clothes and high quality glassware. The card is small but exquisite the food which is served and prepared with so much dedication. Nice starters with bread from the local bakery, the main course is excellent and the desert is not to be missed. This all is cooked by the son and his partner proved to be a fantastic hostess too!We left very early and didn't have chance to taste the breakfast although it very kindly was offered to us - even outside the normal breakfast hours. LOVED LOVED LOVED it!

Greeted with a warm welcome and every need was anticipated, every request met. Dietary wishes were all catered for. A gorgeous room with a rich solid wooden floor, warm atmosphere and warmer underfloor heating. The royally sized bath the cherry on the cake. Biker friendly with secure motorcycle parking available. Attention to detail was apparent in every corner of the suite with no corners cut.

Perfectly calm and cute hotel. Well design in it's style and the reception is very helpful.

The scent in all the rooms and restaurant. Although supposed to smell nice, it is way too much everywhere.

Very polite and responsible stuff, clean rooms, tasty food, easy check in, comfortable bed and bathroom

Poor soundproofing between rooms. Also it was very windy the night we stayed, and the whole night any kind of wire was rattling on the roof.
