    Pros +

    • I arrived later than expected, and they accomodated me with a perfect dinner. The owners are extremely nice and the place is beautiful!
    • The boutique hotel is nestled in such a beautiful setting. The rooms are individually appointed and are modern, luxurious, comfortable and unique. The food is amazing, the staff is friendly and extremely helpful, and sitting out by the firepit was warm and memorable! Definitely a must on your next trip!
    • Quiet setting. Themed rooms. Coffee machine.

    Cons -

    • Loved everything
    • Steep steps from car park with disconcertingly unstable handrail.Gravel drive to hotel meant carrying a heavy case and back pack all the way.
    • The owner of the hotel is very crafty. We were charged with a full price of a 3 course dinner, which we only had the first course, without notifying us that they gonna charge the full price, though we only had one course. We booked dinner for two but on the day of arrival we decided just have a small quick dinner. We asked whether we can have a small portion and told we could. I understand we canceled at last minute but We were not noted with the dinner cancellation policy. The owner should have clearly told us on the point, that it would be a full charge of the dinner no matter how many courses we have but she didn’t. Instead she intended to charge us full price without notifying us. Very disappointing with the manner. At the end she charged me 50% of the full price. I paid $50 Australian dollars for a sweet potato soup. Ridiculous. After the drama, she even wanted to charge us for two takeaway coffee.

This hotel is superb. The forest setting is calming, the decor is stimulating, the staff are so friendly and helpful, and the meals are delicious. A small, casual, outdoor celebration of Easter was an extra treat for guests.

First of all - it's very designed place. From the parking place to restaurant - all of this countryside looking wooden paradise gives you that feeling of Old Good North. Not far-away-very-cold-north, but another one - natural, wooden and cozy place. It's a bit of mountain guest house style. But this particular one house much more hotel-style place. Everything new, clean. Stylish. Very nice restaurant.

Perfectly situated in a beautiful location. The 3 course dinner was absolutely delicious. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Beautiful hotel and grounds. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Charming interior.

Needs a bit more ventilation, it was a bit stuffy on the second floor hallway.

We stayed at the Dutch room. It was so nicely decorated in Dutch style, and we love it. We arrived at the hotel a bit late in the evening and we didn't make a reservation for dinner. The chef, however, managed to fix it, and we could enjoy a delicious 3 course dinner. In addition, the breakfast is very good too. All the staff and the owner are very nice and helpful. We enjoyed a pleasant stay. Highly recommend.

A peaceful little nook not far from some of the most amazing national parks and things to do/see. Beautifully decorated and comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, kind, and personable. The dinner for an additional cost was at the top of the best meals we had our entire trip - absolutely delicious three course menu that we’re still talking about. There were lovely amenities in the room like slippers and heated bathroom floor tiles and it was nice to have some cozy outdoor spaces to sit at all year round. I also appreciated the local beer offerings!

The only thing I can think of is the wifi signal was weak in our room a but for a holiday/honeymoon, that was nice in many ways!

Magical property! The history of the buildings and interior design is fascinating. A beautiful, serene haven after 8 days of expansive car travel in this amazing country. The owner, chef and staff were outstanding; friendly, informative, gracious and fun! The food was world class. We cannot wait to return…. Takk for such a beautiful stay.

We loved everything! There is not one thing we would change.

Everything! Kees is a fabulous chef and Tim was a terrific host. The place is simply lovely, comfortable, and elegantly styled. We couldn’t think of anything we’d change.

    We loved it all!

food excellent, albeit expensive eg compared to Bergen fine dining

Not “luxury” as advertised. Rooms and facilities in general looked a bit tired, especially compared to photos online! Extra charge for coffee at breakfast pretty cheeky.

The uniqueness and character of the Hotel, decoration, general atmosphere. The food, specially the dinner, was top notch. Very attentive and welcoming staff with a personal interaction that makes your stay just very nice and comfortable. It's an amazing hotel with a touch of Norwegian tradition mixed with sophisticated design.

Even though it is located in small forest, the surroundings are industrial area.

Super charming authentic cabin style hotel with great food. Norwegian room has log burner and small kitchen which is handy if you don't want to eat hotel set menu every night. Lovely sauna in the woods.

The hotel is set in a beautiful location, close to winter activities. Friendly, helpful staff and owner greeted me upon arrival. The room was a good size and bed was v comfortable. Good breakfast selection and vegetarian dinner options. The small, boutique nature of hotel offered a cozy and personal feel.

Lighting in my room (Norwegian) was a bit uneven (e.g., more over kitchenette and bedside reading). Shower area lacked shelving for toiletries, etc. Both are small, easy fixes for more convenience.

    10CanadaPosted on: 9-30-2022

The entire stay, from the host and staff to the exceptional food and location, it wrapped up our two week tour of Norway perfectly.

    Nothing to dislike

That is an amazing place in the middle of nowhere. We were shocked that our spontaneous stop became such a magic stay. Thanks to Marco and his team.
