Pros +

- GardensMemorabilia
- The historic charm, friendly staff
Cons -
- The double bed in room 9 was terrible, very unsteady and soft.
- They recommend the oxtail on there menu, but it was basicly bones with no meat. Only sauce
- The young man who attended to us was clearly overwhelmed by his workload, confirmed by another guest who complained about the service. We were not given a WiFi code, but after his abrupt attitude, resolved to do without. The more experienced female manager who was on duty when we checked out, more than made up for our previous day’s experience, possessing the people skills that we have grown to expect on our travels.

Fascinating history behind this quaint, little hotel. Convenient stop between KZN and Gauteng.

location, pub and dinner
Only one coffee cup in bedroom.
The setting. Easy acceptable from the N3Will definitely book again for a stay over.
The view . The garden was beautiful but no view on the mountains.
Such a lovely place to break your journey as we did from the Kruger to the South Coast. Well run, clean and comfortable. Staff very pleasant and meals tasty. Highly recommended
A precious gem - if you like history you will be fascinated by this amazing place. Great staff, a resident donkey, cozy pub filled with memorabilia (if those walls could talk!). Comfortable beds with absolutely essential electric blankets. All round a wonderful stay. I'll be back
Great staff reception. Brilliant bar. Excellent food
Room was a bit dated
Nice garden and pool
The buildings and the bedrooms are run down and showing their age- needs a revamp. Menu limited and not great quality
Breakfast was excellent , gardens absolutely delightful
An aircon would have been nice and perhaps some tissues at hand ?
Poor
The room had a very must smell from the carpets. The rooms were old and started to get dilapidated
I had a light meal of bangers and mash, which was perfect for what I needed at the time. The whole Inn is filled with history, and it shows.
Some guests were noisy.
Love the building, the bar and the great staff including the pet donkey
I think the breakfast could've been slightly better
We loved the children's play area and wide selection of activities for the children as well as the tranquility of the garden. The location a few minutes off the highway was the perfect midway stop
The old hotel historic feel
The garden rooms need an upgrade. Smells moldy. Showers old.
It is authentic. Feels really like home away from home.
Nothing towards the establishment. But the stuck up guest complaining about the wind, my boy jumping on the trampoline, the music and the dessert not having enough nuts on the ice ceeam.
Good breakfast
Dinner was cold, linen was old, rooms very basic
Always a pleasure to stay over at Green Lantern - the staff, the rooms, the visit from the donkey in the friendly pub and of course the food is exceptional!
