Gourikwa Coastal Nature Reserve

Everything was perfect. The reserve is pristine. Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Good weather.

Friendly welcome at the reception. Exquisite setting overlooking the sea. Immaculate accomodation with everything we required.

There are two possible access roads, each approaching from a different direction. The second road has a code activated gate and no cellphone signal to phone the reception for the code. The correct road should be made very clear to visitors to avoid frustration.

Breathtaking views, beautiful untouched nature and great trails the scenic route is a must. Modern accommodation and great rooms. Just a perfect getaway.

Excellent stay in nature with lovely views of the sea.

Noise could be a problem with interleading houses.

Edwina at reception was exceptionally welcoming and informative.Lovely, quiet location and very nice and clean accommodation.

The restaurant is only open "in season" and the nearest restaurant is about 12km away in Gouritsmond.

What a beautiful place! Loved the walks, the drive to the lighthouse and the scenic viewpoint!!

The house was comfortable, clean and far enough from the others to give one the feeling of isolation in unspoilt nature. It is also good value for money accommodation

The bathrooms and kitchen are a bit dated but that doesn’t bother me.

Lounge furniture is in poor condition.Unit was bit dusty, dead insects.

Spotless accommodation and very well maintained reserve, professional and friendly staff, delightful drive around resort, interesting coastline, well worth a visit.

Nothing at all

The facilities at the Resort was up to standard. We loved the communal area where we could braai, swim and have a meal with the whole family. The accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. We came prepared and could prepare all our meals.

We would have preferred if our accommodation could have been closer to each other, it was a busy time of the year, so we had to be satisfied with what we got, but would have liked that.

Fisherman's houses are comfortable rather than rustic, as described. Very clean, lots of hot water and with stunning views of the sea and rocky coast and lots of birds. Away from weekends, the wedding facilities, particularly a lovely pool are empty of other guests. Pleasant beach walk at Gouritsmond too.

Don't expect animal stings but the birds compensate.

The staff were extremely helpful and responsive. The nature reserve is beautiful and very peaceful. We had a beautiful sea view from our room.

The room was missing some of the kitchen utensils that were on the list and could be better equipped. The public area at the swimming pool had not been cleaned for a while, the bins were overflowing, there was no loo paper and the same cans had been outside the whole week.

Amazing views, lots of activities for children. Easily accessible from cape town

Bedding, pillows and towels in fisherman cottages were basic, will try the premium rooms next time.

What an amazing piece of heaven!! Most beautiful views, friendly staff,lots to do with kids! We had a wonderful time here and will surely come again.

We wished the restaurant could be open a while later every day.

The scenic road on the reserve is more suitable for 4x4 vehicles

Nature and ocean views were second to none. One of the best locations ever visited. Lots of places to visit close by.

No fan in the room

Location, amenities, staff, restaurant, pool area, zebras, bird life, sea life. Lots to like

Like an untouched piece of the Garden of Eden. Beautiful serene and views to take your breath away.

Units are not serviced during your stay so there is some cleaning up to do

Recommend cottages instead of inter-connecting units.

Our unit had a connecting door to the unit next door and the connecting door was in our bedroom. It sounded as if it connected to their lounge area, so there was a bit of disturbance sometimes when we wanted to sleep.
