    Pros +

    • Very good breakfast.Excellent dinner.Very friendly staff.
    • We spent a night in the early part of December for a Julbord celebration. We took a guest and we have separate rooms in different buildings. Rooms were a bit small but extremely clean and the bathrooms were a bit dated. We wouldn't spend more than a night with our selection. The Julbord was great with both hot and cold options. However, the desert buffet could have been more creative. Breakfast was very good with excellent selections, fresh and tasty. The main hall of the castle is lovely with a huge fireplace, billiards, bar and nice guests! The general ambiance of the place is warm and old worldly. We would recommend visiting this castle and partaking of the treats.
    • Very good filling breakfast.Staff receptionist Ann and her team couldn't do enough for us such nice people. My only concern was lack of transport as all taxis cancelled at the last minute. Again the staff stepped in to drive us. Wonderful people. The other concern was that we expected to stay in the castle not the outbuildings. This should be stipulated in the brochures.

    Cons -

    • There was some confusion over our guest booking both for the room and the dinner even though payments for the rooms had been made well in advance. We had requested an early arrival and this was confirmed but did not happen. There was also a mix up with our bar bill and we were overcharged. In time, all was resolved and we were offered a free afternoon tea as compensation, which we thought was very nice.
    • the curtains dont protect from the light it is too light from 4am it is hard to sleep to bright
    • Sleeping in outbuildings instead of the actual castle.Lack of transportation to the remote location

Lejondale slott is unique hotel (18 century )with magnificent views on the lake , quit and peaceful for long cruise trip.

we love the place and everything was heaven until jimmy on reception told me the dinner is €7 ,I asked him twice and the price was confirmed so we had lunch and dinners for 2 nights for 13 guest and we discovered it was €52 per meal per guest .., that broke our budget and ruin our happy experience .Better to have clear price list for services like restaurant ,.... thy don't have transportation services and direct phone communications between room and reception .

The palace building and decorations, lake and view behind the palace, and waiters were very kind.

Receptionist: wasn't in her position for checking, our reservation wasn't in the system, didn't explain facilities, events ongoing during our stay that impact service quality and car electric charge. The last because though in her facilities but from another company. Result, unable to use it and charge car. Messed the bill for check out. And didn't allow to stay even 30min for check out. At 10.45 am you must be out.Service: low level and quality for the price. Room service not done for beds and towels. Too many guests for what employees could attend in a high category property. Common toilet no proper clean, missing tables for breakfast (one morning had to share like a canteen), lacked waiters training, eg when to remove dishes, how/where to put food for breakfast. Too crowded in common rooms.Rooms: very small for a queen bed one. No space between bed and walls. Rooms outside the palace and poor internet connection. So common rooms were more needed, but with the crowd not very pleasant.

Nice cattle building and lovely nature.

Room is very(!) small. Only one blanket for some reason? We booked a table for dinner, no one mentioned that there is only menu available. Then we needed to ask for prices as there was no menus, just verbal explanation of the menu. Early check out, already 10.45 (odd time as well)

Very good hotel especially with Reception Jimmy we got free upgrade rooms:)

The house keeping of rooms is not the same level of the hotel reputations. Basically no daily cleaning at all. Sorry for this but please ask your housekeeper to improve.
