    Pros +

    • Hotel has a real feel of wellbeing and comfort. Lots of little areas to curl up and enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine. Beautiful location with sea views. Staff were very friendly and kind.
    • The place is very cozy. The staff were extremely friendly and tried to make anything happen for us. We had different room types and all of them were freshly renovated. Cool sauna with sea view with the possibility to jump into the sea afterwards. Also the food was incredible, the had a limited menu as it was opening weekend so we tried literally the whole menu and everything was delicious.
    • Really love the cozy atmosphere, staff super nice, the view, the home feeling

    Cons -

    • We found the food at dinner time to be excellent but very expensive
    • The pre-booking phase was not ideally as response were sometimes automated or did not come with the requested information, but when we entered the hotel everything was perfect.
    • The breakfast could be a tiny bit more curared

The hotel is super well situated with an amazing view in a restful ambiance.

The diner is a little bit expensive.

Breakfast was perfect as were all the meals. The service was excellent. The staff was exceptional. The subtle Christmas atmosphere was lovely.but skip the stale American Christmas music. The only jarring note.

We did not care for the American Christmas music at breakfast. The atmosphere was lovely with just candles and beautifully set tables. The stale music detracted from that. Why is music necessary when you eat?

The hotel has an amazing view of the ocean and the decor is extremely relaxing in a homely style.

Notified the hotel numerous times it was a birthday celebration but no recognition of this which is very undanish.Rooms had clean linen but lotions . soaps etc, were half full or empty.Last breakfast morning informed there were no coffee beans left! receptionist actioned this and got coffee beans from somewhere. Other guest arriving for the later time for breakfast were being told kitchen had run out of food.Overall lacklustre for what it should be.

    - Excellent small breakfast- Location is amazing, so is the garden and access to the beach- Sauna in the garden available all day- Nice public areas indoor- Amazing sunsets- Good restaurantOverall loved the hotel despite the small room.

    - Room / bathroom was very small, and a bit outdated- Beds were super soft

Amazing location, wonderful food, very cozy village and interesting guests.Been at the hotel before and we really like it.

The personel of the hotel were below average in their customer awareness. Really something that needs to change. The service in the restaurant very friendly but they were not of the level of the quality of the food.

The perfect way to start our trip. Gorgeous views. Sauna and sea bath were delightful. The reception staff was lovely and had our room ready early which was great after a long day of travel. Very accommodating for our small baby. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious. We can’t wait to return!

Simple rooms, high priceLobby, restaurant and terrace where greta though

The simplicity of the rooms, the cheap curtains, small bathroom. Expected more luxury.

Helenekilde is such a peaceful oasis, where, even during the main season, you will find a calm spot at any given time. The dinner was excellent and all staff super lovely and kind. The location, right by the sea, is a dream and it’s only a short walk from the town center, although you won’t find much reason to leave Helenekilde.

Stunning location, very comfortable public rooms

Bathroom very small, breakfast quite limited

The hotel was the perfect place for a few days on the Danish Riviera. It was very well located on the cliff above the beach and had an excellent view. There was a large dining room and several lounges where one could sit in comfortable chairs and relax or read - it had a warm atmosphere and felt like a nice home. The food was good - the breakfast buffet was simple, ample and healthy - at dinner we particularly liked the cod and mashed potato - beautifully cooked and delicious. We would definitely come back to the same hotel.

We had a ground floor room opening onto a little terrace and the garden - it was charming but quite small and only just big enough for us and our luggage. On Sunday afternoon and evening the bar and dining room was closed and all the staff left - the hotel felt like the Marie Celeste and we had to go out into the town for dinner, where the two or three restaurants closed between 8 and 9 pm.Admittedly it was only 21st April before the real tourist season.

Disappointing - not value for money

Room was without any view and very small, bed was too soft - still we had paid 1800 DKK and expected more not the least as the hotel was not full.

Beautiful location, nice beaches. Nice old buiding.

Staff were rude and unhelpful. Even asking simple questions, we received a not so nice response. Ceiling in bedroom was covered in spiderwebs, mould in bathroom, and wasps everywhere due to a huge a wasp nest outside that should have been taken care of. Nowhere to eat dinner except by booking an extremely expensive 5 course meal (small). It took an hour to get bread, the danish customers were served right away, even though they came after us.
