Hotel Strachanovka - Jánska Koliba

The hotel is located in a good place for trips in the area, the room was large and spacious, equipped with everything you need, the spa was good, and the breakfast was good.

The equipment in the room was made of heavy wood, the room lacked some pampering, for example the wooden chairs were heavy without cushions and uncomfortable to sit on, the heating stopped working at night, even though it is an automatic system that should increase the heating level the colder it gets.

Good food, traditional Slovak, spacious rooms, rustic furniture, quite simple, 30 minutes to the slopes.

I chose this hotel because it had a SPA area, but it was very small, there was only one jacuzzi which was located outside. Pretty sober employees, I don't think I saw a smile while I was there, and we were never greeted during the stay. We didn't feel welcome!

rooms need renovating, they are a bit outdated and used - bed sheets and pillows are worn out and need to be replaced- very thin walls between rooms which is not great especially when neighbours like to be up till late

Everything was good. Everythink i like it on this pleace. I recomendet that place.

Good food options. Great view and surroundings. Close to the skiing area (15 min by car). Grocery store in 2,3 km distance.

Rooms without any soundproofing in the walls. You could hear all the noise, all the talk, all the laugh from the near rooms. And all the music from the restaurant...That was very annoying.

Nice clean room, friendly staff and really good food.

Even though rooms were non smoking we could smell smoke from outside as we had room directly above terrace so this was a little discomfort for us. It would be maybe good to not allow smoking on terrace as it is a place where the food is served and there is children playground next to it as well.

The room was spacious and warm. The hotel has cosy, wooden look. There is parking in front of the building.

We did get any proper room service during our 4-days stay. At the end I read in the hotel book that you have to ask for it, which is very unusual practice for hotels. Staff did not speak English, which was surprising since the resort is quite international.Food for breakfast and in the restaurant is very much on the heavy side. Even chicken in the salad had a lot of fat.
