    Pros +

    • Beautiful hotel with lovely grounds and common areas. It snowed while we were there and it was magical! Large varied breakfast and a delicious evening meal were enjoyed! So many beautiful details to observe and enjoy in this gorgeous property.
    • Beautiful location of the palace surrendered by an old park with the lake. Classic old rooms decorated in a beautiful palace style with furniture and decorations from another era where all the stairs, floors and balustrades are made of oak wood. Not to mention the relaxation room with a huge fireplace blazing. We will definitely come back in summer.
    • Attractive building and surrounds.

    Cons -

    • The TV in the great room really disturbed the peaceful enjoyment of the common areas. The staff did turn it off once the one guest who had it on in the bs ground whilst making phone calls departed.
    • Bathroom need a tidy up
    • Disinterested, inexperienced, or inattentive staff. No greeting from any staff member. We were told that our food (dinner and breakfast) would be what the chef wanted to cook. There was no consultation about allergies or preferences. No staff member showed us the facilities or suggested use of pool, exercise equipment or potential for spa treatments. Lovely old building with antique furniture but very poor lighting in corridors. Trip hazards were not marked.

Very romantic and scenic views! Great details and decor. Solid food for the price.

It felt like visiting an empty facility more focused on hosting weddings. The drinks were not cold. The whiskey sour was terrible. The "spa" felt old and unused. They did have a peacock looking at us swimming though. That was cool.

Beautiful building from the outside, it was great to walk around the lake and enjoy the calm. Breakfast on day 2 and 3 was a buffet and much better than day 1. A good range of things.

Very disappointing. The hotel could be an amazing experience. It has a beautiful park with a lake, the interior in the large living room on the ground floor could be the scene of a movie and the bar is beautiful. But that's where it ends. We booked two single rooms. The beds for a single room shown online were double beds, in reality you get two tiny and squeaky single beds that are uncomfortable. The WIFI is mostly non-existent - pops up for some minutes and then fades away again. Yes, this is an old building but it is 2024 and I have stayed in old castles with the thickest walls and excellent wifi. This should be a given considering some people have to work while traveling. They tried to change my room to somewhere with a better signal but it actually was as bad and the next try was better but close to where a wedding party was to take place. The bathroom is dark and completely outdated. Again, yes an old building but if you wanna be a 4 star hotel, there should be light and you should feel comfortable in the bathroom. Tried plugging in my smartphone for charging, found a lot of dust behind my bed. Sadly, I will not recommend this place.Breakfast day 1: had to chose the evening before as there were not enough guests for a buffet, my stepdad's bread rolls were completely dry. I opted for a healthy breakfast - the porridge had tons of sugar and half of the fruit weren't ripe yet.I ordered a Hugo Spritz from the bar which I only drank some sips of - it was so much syrup, it was crazy. No housekeeping took place yesterday or today. I simply cannot fathom how bad this experience is.Today, water is coming into my stepdad's room through the leaking roof and the lift is not working and the stairs are blocked by a DJ pult. We were told there would be a wedding but not that this meant we are confined to our rooms.

The property is so quiet and peaceful. It has an amazing restaurant we had breakfast at every day and dinner the first night. Dinner was amazing. Frag food and prepared perfectly. The scenario around the place was amazing. Location to the main city was great because we had our own car.

Not so much about the hotel but the wait for the meal at the restaurant took a long time to prepare. Also, jacuzzi didn’t work.

Nice environment, good restaurant and breakfast. Most employees understood english.

WI-FI didn´t work. We could not check out before 08.00, this information was not recived before we made the booking.

The grounds of this property are spectacular. The food and the service is unmatched and the room was very comfortable. We also booked massages which were wonderful! We will definitely be back. Thank you to the entire staff who made our stay so special.

Nice old palace, many notable features. We paid extra for the room, was nice and big. Meals were fine, good selection at breakfast. Reasonably sized swimming pool.

It is a bit tired, as with a lot of these older properties. Not many electric points in room.

Nice and cozy castle exactly as we expected

The bed was too small for two grown ups

Breakfast was good. The food in the restaurant was very tasty. Place is very beautiful. The hotel is very unique.

Its good, if you pay more attention to your garden. It can be more beautiful.

If you want to live in a castle, then you've come to the right place, yes it's a bit musty and the rooms may need an update, but overall it's awesome. The location in the middle of a large park and the kitchen deserves top ratings, a small menu, but an amazing meal!

    * very nice location, beautiful in the snow* very nice hotel in general and my room was large and old style luxury

    * a group of Danish hunters staying in the hotel at the same time causing an overwhelming monoculture in the bar and the restaurant

    10DavidPosted on: 10-29-2022

Lovely lobby, breakfast in winter garden like no other, stroll thru the garden, very pleasant and nicely mannered staff. Rooms cosy, get a view of a garden, not the outside road!

If you don't like carpets, stay away, bathroom is getting bit old, but kept clean.

    9MartinPosted on: 10-22-2022

Exceptional hotel with beautiful classic architecture, imposing rooms and very beautiful grounds (garden).Impressive breakfast buffet in very elegant surroundings. Nice common area in the foyer. Nice employees

At least my room didn't have a nice view because the window was far above and tiny. At least the bathroom had a "normal" window.

    3TylerPosted on: 8-25-2022

The grounds outside the hotel were nice.

Hotel WiFi is so bad it might as well be nonexistent. Hotel is dark and dirty, rooms are just wiped down, dust everywhere. They did not inform us of construction happening. Woke up to men looking in my window at me sleeping. Loud work on the building started at 0800 sharpeach morning. Food was not good as well.

Great location and charming palace to stay. Breakfast was yummy too and the on-site restaurant chef has lots of talent, what a treasure! Spa options also don't wanna be missed; the pool was included. Next door scenic lake invites for walks every once in a while. The owner and his employees put lots of effort to maintain this palace I'd guess. Would definitely recommend to stay here for a few nights.

Overall there's not much not to like, however sometimes I missed some hospitality, even though some employees tried so that's ok. Outside the hotel areal there's nothing to do - at least we didn't find anything, good that the hotel offers some entertainment possibilities like billiard, a reading room or the spa although the jacuzzi was closed at the time we were there.

    9DanielPosted on: 8-16-2022

Outstanding building, authentic interior, very clean and fantastic breakfast.

not reachable without car. beds to soft for my taste. staff can’t speak english.

    9QuodvisPosted on: 8-15-2022

The place itself. Its an old castle, really beautiful with a great landscape. Many persons complain about the old furniture and old style.. Well, what do you expect from an old building like this?

    Breakfast could be much better.
