This traditional hotel in located in the Thuringian town of Lauscha, directly opposite Lauscha Train Station. Hotel Beck is an ideal base for exploring the Rennsteig Hiking Trail. Rooms at Hotel Beck are furnished in a modern style. All rooms include a private bathroom, and some have a view of the garden. Pros +
- Breakfast was simple but adequate and there was a great WMF coffee machine. Less than 10 minutes walk from the main shopping complex/museum/tourist information, even closer to stores along the road. Ample parking. Room was clean and updated and there was a great rain shower head in bathroom.
- The location is perfect for a stay in Lauscha. Check-in was very easy and not limited to any reception opening hours due to a submitted code for self check-in. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of food - sweet and salty - both delicious, and also good coffee.
- Good, clean and friendly with breakfast. A very pleasant stay.

- was not warned about the impossibility of using the coffee machine early in the morning as in previous years. There is not even a vending machine.
- Room/bathroom was quite small. We paid more for a family room since we wanted separate beds. It was listed as three twin beds but turned out to be the regular split double and a roll away. Had we actually used the rollaway, the room would have been very crowded so my friend and I had to share a bed again. Definitely not worth the extra charge.
- The mattress was too soft from my point of view, but that's personal preference ... Apart from that - all fine :-)
