    Pros +

    • The breakfast and the guys who are serving and preparing it are super fast and friendly. Breakfast itself is also super delicious with good choices.
    • The room and bathroom were nice - large and comfortable. The property is in a nice location with pretty views and quiet relaxation. The breakfast was yummy. Unfortunately, we had some very unpleasant interactions with the owner which made the stay extremely awkward and uncomfortable. It felt like she didn’t want us there and we were an inconvenience to her. No effort to accommodate or assist in any way. Super rude and overbearing. As nice as the place was, for this reason we would not go back. It is very unfortunate.
    • This would be a pretty good hotel, clean, comfortable (rooms in summer were a bit hot, especially under the roof, no AC nor fan), good garden, good location, good breakfast... but with a different management. It is family-run and they clearly have not been to the school of hospitality. The lady owner has mood changes and is never missing a chance to shout at guests for any excuse, lecture them lengthily, and does never listen. There are also memory issues there, as, the day we arrived, we were angrily told she had told us "the day before" what the last order time in their restaurant was. She would not listen when we said we had just arrived (even checked in with her). All the while, what appeared to be a relative (doing service but also check-ins/out), laughing openly at guests in the total confusion. Such a lack of respect for guests is just not acceptable and at times, it really felt the business is run by people out of their minds. Frankly horrible and repulsive... what a pity.

    Cons -

    • Nothing was really bad but as a guest I felt from the beginning we checked-in that I was a burden for the lady at the counter and her son (who are the owner of that hotel). They complained, were kind of rude and it felt like they were not able to handle the stress, their own booking system and requests from guests. Never even think about to ask for a hot water kettle for yo ur room in that hotel. But when there is no alternative you don’t need put too much effort into your guests.
    • The owner. She’s super negative, micro managing, rude and uncomfortable. We called on the day of our arrival to advise that the drive was taking longer than expected but we should still arrive before 9pm. Her response was “we won’t be here if you arrive after 9”. At breakfast we heard her complaining about guests in front of other guests - is she also talking badly about us? We tried to get drinks at the bar (which was supposed to be open until 9) and at 840 were turned away and told “we also have quitting time and want to go home”. We asked if we could simply buy a bottle of water and the attitude was ice cold and barely allowed. Another evening we asked if they had a hot water kettle we could borrow or get hot water somewhere to make tea in our room later - “oh no, that’s absolutely not possible. We don’t have those kinds of services here.” As a paying guest for 5 days, we didn’t feel like we were welcomed or able to just relax anywhere at the facility outside of our room.

Beautiful large rooms. Helpful, friendly and communicative staff. Great location of the hotel. Beautiful garden with a pond and spa. Good and rich breakfast.

The advertised beach (Nordufer Beach) 1.1 km away is not suitable for swimming. For swimming, Nordstrand is better, which is 2.7 km away.

An excellent hotel of the old (in a good way) type. The garden is much more beautiful than in the booking photos—it has flourished! During warm weather, breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace in the garden, which is very lovely, with high-quality and delicious products. We arrived several hours before check-in and were able to leave our car in the hotel parking lot without any issues.

There was a musty and damp smell in the room, which I suspect is due to the old mansion and the climate, and not easily fixed. It was warm, and when we were in the room, we opened the windows fully, which made it better. Dogs are not allowed at breakfast indoors, so this might be an issue during cold weather (though they are allowed in the restaurant for dinner in the same area).
