Pros +
- The location had an amazing view and very quiet. The breakfast is superb.
- A beautiful historic set of buildings in a country park with a fantastic restaurant and lovely rooms
- Beautiful and quiet place, magical under the snow, with a nice walk around the former mound. Dinner at the restaurant was extremely good, I had one of the most tender rumsteaks I have had in a long time. The hotel sells all kinds of jam and local products like apple juice. We were upgraded to a large suite, which very comfortable, with a lovely terrace straight onto the garden and a huge bathroom. Kettle, tea and coffee in the room. Very easy parking onsite.
Cons -
- Wi-fi practically non-existant. Despite a charming exterior, decoration is modern and neutral, not very cozy. Room was slightly chilly, and shower so modern you need a PhD to use it and not very practical. Also, it would have been great if the fireplace at the restaurant was lit, it was freezing outside. To be really picky, scrambled eggs, as in most German hotels, were very solid and soft-boiled eggs were hard-boiled. We would certainly lodge here again, despite these little things.
- It will be too long before our next visit!
- We were in the modern rooms near the water mill. There was a cold drinks machine and had to ask for hot water to make a cup of tea at bed time. The rooms themselves were very nice and spacious but the bathroom was not for the more modest of us with a full size window into the bed room.

A 40-year trip down memory lane for us, the Forsthaus has a unique ambience and is immaculately kept by the family owners. Superb comfort and gourmet food.

Beautiful buildings and setting. Very peaceful. Possibility to eat out side.

Excelent breakfast! Everything so confortable! We had a little issue with the Water and they solved it right away!
The courtains and bed cothes were a little vintage. I Would update a bit the desing :)
Beautiful, tranquil spot with a personal touch. Food and accommodation were excellent and staff outstanding - friendly, helpful and professional. We wished we’d had more than 1 night.
Amazing place. Beautiful views, kind staff, exceptional restaurant and breakfast. I stayed one night and it was so lovely.
The food is exceptional, we had dinner and breakfast and both were excellent. The location is beautiful and very well kept. It’s very well furnished.
Minimal facilities, especially no kettle in the room. The only ventilation was opening the windows at the risk of insect bites. The gardeners rotovating from 7 to 8am.
With 30 years travailling around Europe, price/ quality..it's the top one
Dinner, équivalent to a one star restaurant, but at a extreme fair price
This was our second visit to Forsthaus Heiligenberg and it was excellent again. The property is charming, each room has character and ours was spacious with an outside patio, great for our dogs. The food is superb and the location is idyllic: quiet, clean and lots of walking opportunities. The wellness facilities are also very nice. We will definitely come back!
Overall an excellent stay. The only thing that would have been a small improvement for us would have been tea/coffee facilities in the room.
Charming with history but modern facilities
All perfect
The style of the hotel.
The Forsthaus is one of my favourite places in the world
Nothing needs to change
There is nothing to not like. It is a very nice place.
I would give customers a little gift like chocolate etc for X-mas. The bathroom door was damaged by water at the bottom.
