Pros +
- Interesting place with catchy history. I could feel the vibe of communist leaders hunting in the surroundings and having a drink or three or ten after that. Having experienced the soviet times, it was not easy to resist the wish to check the installations in the room for the mics, cams, and other bugs. Btw, definitely the best morning coffee among my last 10 hotels. Recommend the place for sure.
- Very friendly staff, fantastic lake, delicious dinner
- Nice Hotel in the midst of an extensive forest with a lot of history next to a pristine lake. Little sauna house right on the lake. Great base for extensive hiking and cycling tours.
Cons -
- Maybe the breakfast could be as fantastic as the dinner
- Mattress was far too soft so not comfortable, no tea or coffee making facility in room, for this price I would have expected this service.
- Although listed as a 4-star hotel, that only accounts for the main building. Most rooms are in annexes and are only 3-star. As a result, we had no air conditioning (stifling in the heat) and there was a massive dark stain on the carpet in one of our two rooms.

Beautiful area, super friendly staff, food very good, boats and SUP available for use at no charge

Beautiful location, helpful staff, many small add-ons that enhanced the stay. The lake…it’s gorgeous.

Nice place in the cradle of nature. High hotel standard, comfortable bed and perfect breakfast
Lake and surroundings are stunningly beautiful. Main building and swimming pool are well maintained and nicely situated. Breakfast is nice.
The rooms in the annex are plain for a three-star (mostly view to a parking lot, noise from the main road no tea/coffee maker or phone, worn mattress) and overpriced. The beach facilities have character but are in need of maintenance. Dinner guests are steered toward the expensive buffet, which doesn't have many vegetarian/vegan options. The first evening I was told only the buffet was available even though other guests were handed the menu. The second evening I was able to order from the menu after I pointed out the limited options on the buffet. There are no other restaurants within 10 kilometers. Some of the staff is very helpful and friendly, others not so much.
Everyone at reception was always kind and professional. We liked the activicites available (free of charge): boat and paddleboard rental, bikes, pool. The breakfast was fantastic-I always love a place that serves pancakes! The coffee is horrible. Nice location by a small lakebut far from anything else. The room was spacious and comfortable despite the small areas that showed age.
We got the "economy room", which is in a different building at the beginning of the property, and very obviously felt like the poor people's area. Most of the building houses hotel workers, the view from most of the hotel guest rooms is out to the parking lot/dumpster area. When we got our room, it smelled of cigarettes. They promptly gave us another room, but it still wasn't a great experience-did they nit notice when cleaning? Did they hope we wouldn't say anything? The economy room is only 3-star. The entire hotel is old, and even in the 4-star part you can see the details that need some love (or replacement). We were asked to reserve a table for the buffet dinner beforehand, which was confusing because they also have a standard menu that wasn't mentioned, so it just felt like they want you to book the most expensive option. Matresses could use replacement, the ones we had werent very comfortable.
Location, amenities, staff, breakfast, kids friendly, a lot of extras in the price
dinner is on the expensive side
The terrasse, the Park, and the lake were fantastic, the whole place is beautiful and very peaceful. We also loved the option to go paddling on the lake.
There were too few power outlets in the room
The breakfast was great and the view over the lake was fabulous. The surrounding country side was beautiful and very calm. I could imagine this being a great destination in the summer.
The economy room I booked was in a sad little side wing, completely separate from the main hotel structure. I don’t remember this being clear when I booked the room. The room was nice enough but the beds were really uncomfortable and there was just one sad, cheap, thin duvet on the bed. The sauna by the pool was not hot and the boats and paddle boards weren’t available to rent during my stay. Oh and the history of the place is really unsettling (I’ll let you do your own research) it’s hard to find charming, well decorated hotels in Germany, so I thought I struck gold, but with all the disappointments that kept rolling in, I would say it’s definitely not worth the price.
Pool and breakfast.
Receptionist was really unfriendly and unknowledgeable.
Location is awesome, with a spectacular lake in front of the Hotel, there is a sauna right in front of the lake from where you have a window from which you enjoy the view. Everyone working in the Hotel was nice and helpful. Breakfast was delicious!
Nice Bathing and sauna facilities at the Lake. Nice indoor pool. Nice morning buffet. Beautiful forrest and lakeviews. cosy and Quiet!
A bit ‘old’ atmosphere due to the furniture, carpets and architecture.
Very well maintainer hotel, excellent location, very good breakfast.
Great food and location
2 single beds and quilts id prefur double . ? could be better
Beautiful location. Sauna at the lake. Restful. Quiet.
Decor a little heavy.
Location and spa, breakfast
attitude of the receptionist.
Location is wonderful, the lake water is crystal clear, breakfast was good and healthy, free activities included in the price (boat, kayak, SUP), dinner buffet for 30€ / person was varied and delicious (can recommend!)
Rooms have a bit of an old smell, furniture, decor etc. wasn´t replaced in many years (both in rooms and common areas). Outdoor sauna was closed (pity!), indoor swimming pool unfortunately very warm (no refreshment after sauna) and lighting in indoor pool was terribly glaring (felt like being at the doctor´s). All in all, the price was a bit too high (we paid 210€/2 people per night) for the - partially- poor condition of the hotel.
The rooms should have coffee station
