Hotel Posthuys Vlieland

The location was fantastic, right in the middle of nature, which made it very peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast was delicious and offered plenty of choice, with more than enough space to enjoy it comfortably. The rooms were very spacious with a comfortable bed, and everything felt clean and well looked after. On top of that, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

We arrived in the afternoon with our three-year-old daughter and had considered the hotel restaurant as a convenient option in case the weather turned rainy or windy. It turned out to be closed that evening, which we hadn’t realized since we don’t follow the hotel on social media. This left cycling to the center or the festival as our only choice — something we were initially unsure about with a small child. In the end, it worked out wonderfully, and the festival turned out to be a fantastic start to our trip. It would have been even better to know about the closure in advance, but overall we had a truly enjoyable experience.

The friendliness of the restaurant staff, and the general experience. The location and general atmosphere brought out the comraderie of other guests. A good breakfast. Bike parking outside seemed rather safe: no other buildings for miles around.

Many customers arrived at the same time, via the ferry from Texel. It would have been helpful had someone met us and informed us where registration was (the restaurant) and how to get there (around the building, despite the rain). If not for that, the place rates a "9".

The location is magical. I haven’t been anywhere so quiet and peaceful. Food was great, room was great.

You do have to plan getting there from the ferry, but that only adds to how special this place is.

Breakfast had fair options. The room was good, had everything we needed. The location is perfect if you want something which is a bit isolated (which is what we wanted to avoid light pollution since we were there to see the meteor shower). Staff and service was friendly and good.

Everything was good, no complaints. Maybe a couple of suggestions: In the summer, peopler would prefer a thin quilt rather than the usual duvet. Also a vending machine of snacks would be good since there's no restaurants around besides the one on the premises. So after that closes, there's no options really!

The hotel is located in a tranquil part of the island, beautiful views from the windows, close to the beach. The room was very clean, nicely decorated and spacious. Next to the hotel there is a restaurant with a great choice of food. The staff spoke English very well and was super kind and helpful. Cute cat will call you for a breakfast :)

Very convenient, clean functional facility to make a quick stop enroute from Texel via vriendschap ferry and the vliehors transport.

We’ve got a spacious room, well warmed and clean. Good mattresses (it’s the hard ones for us), but far from softness dark colored towels. There is a kettle, coffee machine and a set of tea bags in the room.Unfortunately, our room was not cleaned during 3 nights stay (no vacuum, no fresh towels, nothing, even trash bags were not replaced). For breakfast, it was a bit awkward to wait when the waiter brings you a plate and cutters, we even had to ask for plates. Plates are not served at tables or in a pile next to the food, as it is usually done. I’m not sure what is the reason of the hustle to go back to kitchen to bring sets for each guest. Decent variety at breakfast for early birds: yogurt, omelette, cheese, croissants and pancakes, boiled eggs, 2 types of juices, for coffee / tea you also need to ask; at around 9.20 you’ve got what is left, which was kind of okey in the end. It was great to learn that there is a luggage delivery, when I saw other bags labeled at the reception. Our luggage was delivered directly to the ferry. As I understood, all hotels do this. But still, very helpful.

Great. 7km track starts next door. Beach is 0.5km away. No other hotels in the area. Stars at night - low light pollution. Feels fresh (built in 2004).

No wifi at all

Very peaceful and relatively isolated place amid beautiful countryside and at walking distance from the beach. Room big enough, but not spacious. You always have to book with breakfast, but this is really great and abundant and you are encouraged to convert into a packed lunch too. Good restaurant, but a bit pricey and closed on Mondays.

Staff is not always available. Slight smell from the bathroom.

Most incredible place on earth. We loved every part of our stay here: the location, the comfort of the room, the view, the cosy atmosphere, the great breakfast and food at the restaurant. We will definitely come back!

Very good hotel in a calm and beautiful place in Vlieland; sorrounded by nature and calm.The room was perfect, big, comfortable, and clean.The breakfast was delicious! Different options for Al tastes, we could even prepare sandwich for the day.The place is calm, á 20 min biking from the main village of Vlieland. Perfect to disconnect from the noise.The staff was kind and helpful. Delicious food at the restaurant for lunch.We love our stay at the hotel.

Room was large and pleasant, lighting was good and we had a nice view over the Wad. Everything was clean and pleasant. They have a small coffee corner where one can make coffee, tea and hot chocolate and buy drinks, sweets and salty snacks for a small price. Any time of the day. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Practical and not fake-service oriented. This is NOT a place for loud people, big rowdy families or people with over-the-top requests on luxury. It is a simple, good place to stay with nice good food. There is not much to do except walk and look at birds and the sea.

The check in only starts at 15:30, that was the only things I would have enjoyed better earlier. But we could put pur bags inside and spend a few hours in the library room.

The room we had on the ground floor was very spacious for 2 people.Breakfast was delicious, filling, and we loooove that in our basket of fresh breads, the staff included two doggie bags so we could take away any leftovers. This was perfect to not only avoid food waste, but also because it came in handy for lunch on the beach. The area is more isolated and it’s not easy to go shopping or to go to a restaurant in the middle of the day, so the staff’s clever and considerate thinking is a big win in my book. We also really enjoyed how quiet and peaceful the surrounding area is in the mornings and evenings. Even in the middle of the afternoon, it sometimes felt like we had the island to ourselves. Coming from a big city, this is of course is quite a treat!We would definitely stay here again.
