Gut Basthorst

Nice place. A pond, an old church, away from cities. You can walk around in peace and quiet. Clean rooms, good bathroom, good heating in the room.

Internet didn't work - no wifi/TV because of that. Staff did not inform us about this until we asked why wifi isn't working. Some electric works are being done but no warning for us.Staff didn't know about the meals in the restaurant - couldn't inform which wines they have, which meat is in some dishes on the menu. They were friendly though.

Breakfast was excellent, staff very nice.The location is very quiet and beautiful.

Very nicely renovated old farm, comfortable, with absolutely everything you need. The whole complex is spectacular. Yes, maybe it's not all modern and up to 2024, but overall you get a lot for your money. Parking space in front of the door, pets are accepted at no extra cost. Although the restaurant does not have a very complex menu, what it has is delicious. The staff is very kind and helpful

It's very hard to find something you don't like. However, if there was something to object to, it would be the price for breakfast. 17 euros per person, although it is ok, it is way overpriced

Nice and traditional on the outside and still fresh and clean on the inside. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The area is really beautiful.

Very friendly staff, cosY atmosphere and easy going

I liked everything, I only missed a fridge with a freezer, and some things like a potato peeler in the kitchen but all in all, was fantastic!

We enjoyed everything about our stay. Great apartment, great dinner, friendly staff and a good nights sleep.

2 very bad chairs, shower stall old, in need of replacement, excessive noise from nearby agricultural activities all night long.

A beautiful and historic property in the country side. Lovely, 2 floor apartment with all the amenities. The restaurant onsite is set in the old stables which makes for a very charming setting.

As much as I love hearing church bells, having the bells toll every hour and half hour, all night long, made for a very broken sleep. I literally counted out the bells for every hour from Midnight until 6am!

Beautiful contryside, nice rooms, restaurant open all days, very good breakfast, very nice staff, dog friendly. Our regular place for stop-over on our way to Italy

The staff was wonderful and the place is just gorgeous. It was my daughter's birthday and I came in the last moment and asked if they can do something special, and they made her such a nice birthday table, with candles and birthday decorations. I loved the beautiful place, the comfortable and cosy house, and the incredible staff. My children didn't want to leave. Will absolutely recommend.

The hotel is friendly to dogs and they don’t take extra money for pets.

The hotel located in the big farm and brewery. The beer is good, but it is Noisy. The Outside picture was made from the restaurant garden. The hotel itself had a much poor view. Tractors started working very early and it was loud. The apartment was nice, but kitchen was old and it didn’t have Dishwasher. In our variant - the small kitchen was on the first floor with the little table for 2 people, but the apartment itself was for 4 people. We with the children had to eat upstairs in the living room which was not convenient. Restaurant suggested breakfast for 16,5 euro that was too much for what they provided. Internet didn’t work well. So we stayed 2 nights but hardly will recommend to do it to other people.

Very cozy place with great staff. Clean rooms and comfortable bed. Fresh air and nice surroundings.

Would have liked to have a refrigerator in the room plus coffee and teamaker.

DRESSES AND SHOES GOT VERY DIRTY AS PATHS ARE UNEVEN AND DUSTY

We loved that the apartment had direct access to the garden and many walks in the surrounding forest for ourselves and our dogs. Perfect! Dinner and breakfast were wonderful and we could even take the dogs in the restaurant. Could not have asked for better!

Absolutely nothing

The hotel is in the country and quite picturesque. The estate has a few local businesses in the out buildings. Unfortunately all the shops were not open when we were there. The restaurant and breakfast are in the old stables and the staff were friendly and the food very good.

The areas between the rooms and restaurant are outside and tend to get very muddy and dirty. More gravel on the paths might help the situation.

The room is big enough, clean and hygienic, and the surroundings are nice and quiet.

There is no electrical outlet near the desk, which is inconvenient.

It is a nice place and restaurant very good. I think we where unlucky this time. First time was ok with a lower standard of the room because the price was really good. We went back because we liked it and it is easy and safe to park the car.

Nicer apartment on the surface but the shower a disaster as the water didn’t run down at all and we had water all over the floor even in the living room. None else of my family could use the shower. It took my morning and all towels to clean it. Otherwise the water would have run down the stairs. We had to leave early in the morning. This issue should have been known by the staff. That’s why I’m not happy

Whenever I need a stay in Hamburg area, I choose Gut Basthorst. The accomodation facilities (we already tried many variants of appartments) are fantastic. Plenty of space, very clean, full of facilities, the gardens. Greaty value for many. But...

The service at check-in and restaurant is a disaster. Everytime we are here, it seems to be getting worse. Honestly this is the most unfriendly and incompetent staff, I have ever experienced. No idea, how these people got to hospitality business. The best what you can get from them is to be ignored, the worst is when they try to execute your order (luckily, in 99% of your time, you will be ignored). I know, it's hard to find people nowadays, but you would be better off with automatic check-in and closed restaurant. They would no repel the customers.
