- Since there wasn't anyone on site upon arrival in the early evening, we received a call from the owner, which was really nice and helpful. My colleague and I took turns behind the desk to check each other in, and finding the second form to fill in the necessary personal details. I liked that we were granted permission by the owner via phone that we could go behind reception, an otherwise holy place, to get the second key. And, we got good advice for a place to eat. If you are looking for a bite to eat, do not hesitate to go to the Ristorante Pizzeria Da Pino http://vfb-sennfeld.de/verein/sportheim
- The building and the grounds are beautiful.
- Located in a small town of Sennfeld on a river shore in a very picturesque scenery. Very well maintained with an authentical outlay and wooden stair case to the second floor. Big rooms with full size bathrooms, vintage style furniture, comfortable beds. Basic continental breakfast with real coffee on the good China table ware and vintage accessories and cutlery served in the in-house dining room. The dinning room also acts as a restaurant a couple of days in a week starting from Wednesday. Three minutes’ walk up the street one can find a nice bakery Bäckerei Dörr with fresh pastry, coffee and dairy products. For a choice of restaurants and shops it is better to drive 5 minutes to the town of Adelsheim. The castle has a nice and big garden with fountain housing a herd of king size golden fish, some tables and benches to sit outdoor. There is a lot of free parking places on the street and a couple in the garden. The hotel is managed by a very friendly young couple. They are quite efficient and very pleasant to deal with.
Cons -
- The entrance was not easy to find, although Schloss Sennfeld is quite a dominant building, since it is tucked away in the back. I did not notice neither a Schloss Sennfeld nor an entrance sign. I can imagine that the place, which is primarily a conference and wedding party place, can be pretty charming in these situations, but on a regular Wednesday night in Sennfeld, it's a little sad and dreary.
- I arrived after some days of camping and was really looking forward to a warm shower. Unfortunately, the warm water was not working when I arrived. When I asked the man at the counter (I assume he was the owner), his response was a bit rude and dismissive. Something along the lines of - "yeah, maybe the warm water will be on later, who knows". I didn't appreciate that and the warm water problem also didn't get fixed. After waiting around sweaty for a few hours, I took a cold shower. Not my favorite hotel experience.

Everything was fine
the location the building the staff
room was too smallbeds were too low
Restaurant was nice, the Käsespätzle very great. It's a really cute and special location in a small village.
Coffee machine was not so goodChurchbell ringed at 6am, but this is sth. the hotel is not responsible for ;) Had to call for staff every time and in the morning no one was at the reception (should have called again maybe), but self-checkout is also not possible, why? It would be great to have a bell for the restaurant and staff in general at the reception.
the staff was super friendly and flexible
I would love to have had a bit more variety for the breakfast in terms of dietary requirements like milk alternative, vegan cheese or some alternatives.
Beautiful place. Very tastefully designed and decorated to blend modern convenience with historic design. The service was great and the owners very nice! They made us feel welcome the minute we walked in the door. Also, the food was very good. we recommend leaving room for desert: the Creme Brulee is incredible! We really enjoyed out stay!
My stay was short but pleasant and the staff was cooperative.
