- The views are amazing and it's very quiet. Given that it is run by the catholic church as a seminar house, it does have a 'youth' hostle vibe about and no mirror or TV in the room.
- Clean well appointed rooms with a view. Value for money food and drink
Cons -
- Its quite a distance from the Main town but with arranged Transport it is doable!!
- The staff was very friendly and helpful apart from the nun at the reception desk, that was one grumpy lady!

Place is really nice, sitting on top of hill, with lots of trails going to different directions. Beds were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was really good. This place is run by catholic church as place for spirituality. Therefore, there is no real restaurant, so options for lunch and dinner are limited.
Keep in mind that there is no bus coming to this place. There is a 2km hike to St. Peter where bus runs.
The hotel is very good with perfect mountain view. Although the road to the hotel is narrow, the countryside scenery is so beautiful. It's near the small town of St. Peter. We had dinner at a very good restaurant which the staff of the hotel recommended. Children are running in the grassland and chasing grasshoppers. The hotel in the forest is suitable for relaxation for several days. Breakfast is good.
Quiet and peaceful. Far from the madness of the crowds.
Keep in mind It is a retreat place hence don't expect facilities. The restaurants nearby are lacklustre. Yet the location makes it a great place to stay at for a few days. Having your own transport is highly recommended.
Fantastic location in black forest. Wonderful views. Good breakfast. Not really a commercial hotel, but a retreat. There is s lovely chapel adjacent to the main building. Freiburg can be reached by car in about 35 minutes.
Location, outside partying area, trecking, mountain biking.
Room size is bit small.
Great location & unique property with great views.
Staff skimpy, limited restaurant hours, breakfast spread not restocked
Fresh air and very clean room, great scenery like what others have said, good value for money, located on top of the hill in the lovely town
Nothing. Everything is great!
Amazing location with good breakfast buffet. Good value.
Rooms are simple, but functional.
The location was quiet and in a secluded area. Great view! The rooms were a good size and clean.
That view is worth everything you could ever ask for in the Black Forest. Simply gorgeous and heavenly. Plus the drive up to the guest house? LOVED it.- Very peaceful & quiet- Perfect for a rest & departure point for hikes - Easy access to cute village- Definitely recommend a car to visit other places around or plan your hikes around the guest house
No fan/AC so it got very hot at night
We missed the breakfast what we have paid for initially , however the stuff was still nice enough to give us some bread and fruits when we asked if we could take some with us. Anyhow, the breakfast for 24 euros for two person with a non existing vegan options are simply too expensive. Bread with jam is not a proper vegan breakfast.
We were on the ground floor in a corner room and it was super small, no fridge in the room even it is summer. That is the least to have in order to keep water, drinks cold. Also, it was just a very sad place with zero decoration and welcoming feeling. It did not look cleaned either. It was dark everywhere at night, did not see any other guests and had a feeling we were probably put in a room which normally kept for the people working there in the restaurant or at the church...
The property is located in the middle of paradise. You are surrounded by beauty. As a bonus for me, there was a church next to it and a hiking trail. The room was super clean and the staff was really nice. The place is very soothing.
Unfortunately, the weather was warmer than expected for the end of June and there is no A/C. The room where we stayed faces the parking lot, and the afternoon sun hits the windows which makes the room too warm to sleep comfortably. There is no TV, which was perfect for us, who wanted to decompress. And, please BE careful with ticks. Please hike with long pants and use a good insect repellent. Unfortunately we did not know about ticks and my son, was bitten by a tick which got stuck in the back of his leg.
Amazing views - worth the climb. Fantastic service, great food!
Very cheap drinksVery spacious and clean roomsGreat viewGood for bike travellers Bus tickets for free If we did not have dinner problem, i would rate 9.
No dinner if you don't tell in advance and near town is not near with bikes. For car, it is ok.No tea coffee option in the night
The location is so so beautiful. You dont have to go anywhere to get a nice view. The view from room itself is mindblowing. Room was so clean and the staff were also so nice.
Wifi was not good. Could get connection only some points in room. Not in the entire room. Breakfast also didnt have much choices. For 10 euro it could have been better.
The hotel room was super clean. We booked two bedrooms apartment, and it was very spacious and on the top floor with fantastic view. The whole apartment is equipped with floor heating, big bathroom with very comfortable big shower room, full functional kitchen, a lot of closet storage space, etc... The whole self beverage filling system was really convenient and honest. The prices listed for the beverages were so decent, and they just charge for supermarket cost price (even cheaper), which you would never find in other places. We definitely will come back again and recommend it to our friends.
We were satisfied with everything.
Absolutely amazing! The mountain view is breathtaking and beautiful. All the hosts are very warm and welcoming. The rooms are super clean with a great nature view. We also saw the stars and new year fireworks at night as a surprise. We highly recommend!
The wifi connection is a bit weak, and the hot water may not be very hot from time to time. But these are just miner things, as we are very happy overall.
