    Pros +

    • Beautiful castle, beautiful decoration, fire place, quiet, good dinner, nice staff, spacious room with all necessary amenities.
    • This was a return visit and all was as we remembered - wonderful dining experiences, elegant rooms and beautiful grounds. The pool was most welcome too in view of the heatwave.
    • Gorgeous, serene setting. Lovely, helpful staff. A perfect stay.

    Cons -

    • Everything is really good and well organized, the following are only very small details: the main dining is big (and very beautiful) but a bit cold (still very reasonable, no worries). Breakfast is good, maybe a bit more of vegetable and salad would be welcome.
    • Our only criticism was that the two ornamental rugs in our room constantly rucked up and could have caused a fall.
    • One morning a large group ate breakfast and the buffet was not filled properly.

Hotel is located inside big, big garden offering nice views, we made a walking tour and enjoyed very much.Easy to find and free parking on site. Far away, but no problem if you have a car.

The receptionist was not helpful to provide information and offer anything about the hotel. Then we just skipped off anything from the hotelWe booked a Grand Comfort Double Room but was not grand nor comfortable at all. Our room a small, outdated Ibis room. The bathroom was small too and there was a bathtub which is not easy to get in & out, very dangerous.Pity we paid Euro 876 for 3 nights, such a waste!

We enjoyed our stay at Chateau De Rochecotte. The room was comfortable and cozy but small. The bathroom was appointed well with everything we needed. We enjoyed the breakfast both morning and dinner one evening.

Lovely room and bathroom, delightful public rooms to have a drink and relax, beautiful setting with lovely walks in the woods, evening meals were a pleasure. The staff were excellent , particularly the head waiter who made everything a bit more special (Greg?) . Would love to return.

The breakfasts were superb. The staff was attentive, and the lounge with the massive fireplace was a great spot for an evening aperitif.

The dinner menu in the restaurant seemed a bit limited, but that just might be French provincial fare in December.

Beautiful chateaux, beautifully restored and decorated - very well run and comfortable for an overnight stay and I'd like to return for a couple of days in the Loire valley and explore the grounds, perhaps at a slightly warmer time of year. The quality of the dinner in the restaurant was excellent.

Had an incredible dinner and breakfast was amazing. The rooms were lovely and so comfortable. I would thoroughly recommend.

This chateau has beautiful gardens and ample location for parking. Parking is included. The bed was comfortable.

We did not stay in the main building. The smaller building next to the hotel had dirty stairs full of bugs like spiders. The bathtub of this room is dangerous for the elderly and other people with disabilites ( high and narrow).

    Beautiful suite in chateau

Overpriced restaurant with average quality menu.

Very charming well kept hotel. Bathrooms are modern and updated. Rooms do not feel dated. Classy lounges and restaurant. Great views of the valley from the property.

Stunning hotel set in beautiful surroundings. A luxurious treat. Breakfast and evening meal were superb. A very relaxing stay with plenty of space inside and out to rest and unwind.

    That I couldn't stay longer

Nice place, though we expected a little more - the room is good but all modern and relatively cheap, low ceilings etc. You expect a little more from a château. The park is fantastic. The restaurant hall is impressive, the food s good, the service is sincere but veeery slow.

Good amenities and nice pool area, really liked the forest behind with trails for walking the dog and relaxing.

Personnel was not quick enough to aide if we wanted any beverages on the terrace near the French garden, same with the personnel serving the living/tv/ lounge room area, we expect a higher observation from personnel asking if we need anything, time between we see them are for too long and I can only imagine that it could become more profitable for the bar if there was serving at pool and much more personnel serving the terrace areas. The 2 restaurant room, one with modern lounge kinda look and the classic tall ceiling majestic room, I would have thought menu was different, maybe more modern menu in one and the more classic finer dining in the classic room. We stayed 2 nights and menu selection is not very wide and we ended up eating same meals 2x as the menu offered not a big variety. An idea could be to offer easier lighter modern dining in the modern area and keep it classic in the fancy room.

Peace and tranquillity. Wonderful grounds for walking off a long day in the car.Excellent food.

Staying in the stable block was noisy during the night with delivery trucks. Also downstairs door banged!

    9JuliePosted on: 8-3-2024

Beautiful grounds in a luxury setting. Rooms are large with opulent decor. Bathrooms are updated with excellent facilities/comfortable shower. The in-house restaurant has gourmet food with a michelen quality chef.

Everything was wonderful. The only reason I can see this place not having a 5* rating is that the restaurant doesn’t make entree changes to its menu nightly.

The property is very well maintained, and the park is beautiful. We had a few lovely walks around the castle. The staff was always polite and friendly Our room was large and very comfortable. It even had air conditioning! (Not a given in French hotels and much welcome with the 30+ temperatures we had). We also really liked the pool.

Service at the restaurant left much to be desired for the prices they charge. We had dinner the 1st night of our stay, and felt forgotten by the many staff present, with much longer waiting time than neighboring tables. After that we decided to have dinner elsewhere and were lucky to find a wonderful unpretentious little family restaurant nearby with amazing food and service. In our room you could hear a bit of noise from outside (not sure if from the stairs).

Our room was amazing! Spacious, clean and very well furnished. The bed was very comfortable and our dog was made to feel welcome. The grounds are immaculately kept and vast, 3 terraces give you the opportunity to have different views of the countryside. The pool is well sited and was kept really warm, great size and plenty of loungers on terrace. The breakfast was well presented and generous.

    Nothing!

    Beautiful countryside, gorgeous interior

Swimming pool was disappointingly small and not of a great standard. Breakfast- no one present to ask for general help with things like tea spoons for yoghurt and cereal. scrambled egg was cold- I formed waiter and no concern given. Had to go to the kitchen area to ask for water. Table not cleaned when cold scrambled egg plate placed on empty table next to us. finished cereal, bowls left for us to move also. For the money for the breakfast I would have expected better service that morning.
