Pros +
- A wonderful stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The staff were consistently helpful and attentive, and the meals in the restaurant were delicious — genuinely a highlight of the trip. The property itself is beautiful: large territory with great views and a calm, private atmosphere. Parking is free outside the hotel, and getting around the estate by golf cart is easy and actually fun.
- A brilliant, brilliant hotel from reception to checking out. I have never stayed in a more beautiful hotel with such exceptional staff - and I haven’t begun to mention the exquisite food or gorgeous pool.
- Great location, beautiful place, amazing views, great food wonderful staff.
Cons -
- Absolutely nothing.
- The beds, the pillows, for a 5 stars hotel they could do better than 2 single beds put together with a thick seams all around, they need foam mattresses.
- I gave this a 9 only because we missed the full hotel feel, of being able to order food and drinks by the pool. The area has nice flavoured water for guests... but no staff or phone to order. Not a deal breaker, but we did miss it. Also if the restaurant is closed, you cannot order food, so we needed to go out for that. Very small things, and we were personslly phoned before and advised... so the hotel really does warn you. For us it was no problem, but just plan ahead a bit if this will bug you.

We had booked here for 3 nights, and loved it so much, we stayed longer! This was honestly the highlight of our trip to the Basque country! Not sure what we did to deserve it, but we were upgraded to the most incredible apartment with walk-in closet, office, lounge, huge bedroom and TWO bathrooms - one with a double shower and the other a full bath. Just sheer luxury. The decor is French country, really classic and clean, balanced with beautiful antique pieces. We had a large patio overlooking the mountains and close to the pool. A delight to wake up to (and admire the bright stars at night)! We had dinner twice at the restsurant, and loved it all. The staff really make this property what it is. The times the restaurant was not open. We went a short way doen the hill to a local restaurant, which was perfect. The pool is nice and big and the jacuzzi such a treat. There is also a sauna, but we did not use it. The breakfast is wonderful. Dont miss it. Homemade quiche, tarts, Basque cake.... yummy!!!!!!All in all, this is now our number one destination, and we cant wait to return. Relax. And repeat. Thank you to everyone for the memories.

Fabulous location; delicious restaurant, overpriced though
Very weird welcome on a last minute booking
Fantastic location, great restaurant.
Swimming pool and spa area could do with a refurbishment
Fantastic Michelin star food ( although didn’t have a star when we went but deserves one).Great, friendly professional staff
Wonderful food and inspiring location
The food offer was very limited because there was no way to have an informal lunch or a snack and no provision in the room to prepare any snacks for ourselves - not many people want gourmet meals three times a day!
Spectacular and very private and secluded locationAmazing food in the restaurant, the chef John Argaud and his brigade are just fantastic
Excellent location on the terrace, stunning view. Very good breakfast with a lot of local products, fresh orange juice, good quality coffee. Eco-friendly- electric caddies for use inside the property, between different locations.
Poor Wi-Fi. Restaurant closed Sunday, Monday, Tuesday lunch. Finally we dined there in one evening. Unfortunately was there a group of 12 very noisy and laughing…But we enjoyed the high quality and presentation of dishes.
wonderful location and beautiful views, feels very close to nature
there were very limited facilities available and we were not advised about this prior to arrival. in addition the breakfast was very poor with flies over all the exposed food and limited choice. there was also a general lack of understanding and sympathy from the staff.
The location was amazing, our individual house/room was lovely. Very comfortable for us and our dog, with Patio doors going straight outside into the forest. The food was excellent, although quite expensive, having said that, we would re visit, sadly we were unable to use some of the facilities, due to time restraints.
The pillow on the bed was seriously uncomfortable, typically in French style, the use of bolsters and one small pillow each. We had to resort to using the sofa cushions. Our dog wasn’t keen on the golf buggies that were used to get around on the site.
Absolutely beautiful location and incredibly friendly staff.
Amazing location and scenery

everything that we might have wanted had been thought about
