    Pros +

    • We stayed in a building outside of the Château, and loved the spaciousness of suite. The room included a private terrace overlooking the property with views of the mountains above.
    • Very cool location - the access road coming in was breathtaking. The facility is beautiful - preserving the antiquity of the original castle while seamlessly blending modern finishing into the staterooms.
    • Dinner was great. Love the authentic chateau. right on the river. Charming.

    Cons -

    • Roads can be narrow and windy coming and going.
    • The bathroom was huge, and beautifully appointed and functional. With the notable exception of the huge freestanding tub. While the tub is a gorgeous throwback to the "original" fixtures, it is completely useless for bathing. Please consider adding a modern (stand-up) shower, with a glass enclosure. There is certainly enough room to do so.
    • Our particular room did not have a stand up shower. Not a big fan of hose showers. Can be simply solved with a bracket to hold the hose head up on the wall. It's what we have at home.

Genuine castle oozing with charm in a picturesque setting. Staff very niceLovely claw foot tub in our bathroom so able to enjoy a nice soak. Sheets and towels great quality and bed very comfortable.

Didn't want to drive the tricky roads to another town at night so decided to eat in hotel restaurant. Very limited choice on menu then one of the 5 items was not available. A switch of the side dish was made without us being notified and it was something we didn't like. For a 4 star hotel we expected better food. They really need to improve their menu and choices.

An amazing place in the heart of the Gorge de Tarn. So much history oozing out of the fabric of the building. The views were terrific and the food first rate. An exceptional place to stay.

    Excellent pool and gardens.

50 stairs to reach our room - like most castles it doesn't have a lift!

    10LisaPosted on: 8-5-2024

The Suite we had was fantastic with large rooms and a balcony overlooking the hotel pool, the castle and the gorge. The restaurant that was on the castle terrace was lovely with tables overlooking the garden and views along the gorge. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was worth staying in for the day just to relax and use the pool whilst everyone else was out sightseeing!

It was a little hot at night but if you kept everything closed up during the day this helped. There was a fan that helped.

Grand, old castle in a picturesque part of southern France. The pool was divine, looking up over the castle. The river runs right beside the castle where you can swim or kayak. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It is well worth booking dinner at the restaurant - amazing food, view and service. Secure motorcycle parking. Highly recommended.

Beautiful setting and a very historic site. Staff very helpful

Lack of air con as we were there in a heatwave and there were mosquitoes so had to keep windows closed

The chateau is amazing. Our room was fabulous with a lovely terrace. The grounds and the pool area are so beautiful

    Nothing really.

The location of Chateau De La Caze is breathtaking. Our drive up the mountain afforded scenic views over the Gorge and driving into the grounds of the Chateau was stunning even in pouring rain.Camille who was on reception was very welcoming and showed us to our room in the 15th century chateau and even carried a heavy suitcase to our room while we were parking and collecting the rest of our luggage! Our room was charming, clean and comfortable despite the double bed in room Anne being relatively small. Nevertheless we had a good night's sleep. We ate dinner in the chateau on the first evening and our main waiter, Theo was particularly helpful in explaining the dishes, all of which were delicious. We visited local village Saint Enimie which was beautiful and we had a superb lunch in Chez Leon.

Our only comment was that some of the food at breakfast was uncovered. As the doors were open onto the terrace it would have been preferable for it to be protected from insects.

What a beautiful location! Right by the river which is so clear, you can see the fish feeding off the bottom. The staff is very nice, helpful, and efficient. Our room was huge, clean, & comfortable. We had a balcony overlooking the pool. The Chateau is beautiful. Dinner in the chateau was excellent. The water pressure was great.

The comfort level would improve with air conditioning. Opening the windows was not an option because of mosquitoes and lots of flies in the area. The Gorge probably does not get as hot as other areas in France, but the climate is changing and it was too warm in our room even with the fan. Also the room is fitted for a king size bed and it had a queen. It was comfortable, but a king would be better.

Dinner was excellent enjoyed but would not stay again

WiFi in rooms 2024 should be able

Really fantastic spacious suite with balcony, coffee facilities, fridge. Gorgeous view. A privilege to stay in such lovely accommodation. We would return.

Few choices for dinner. My monkfish arrived nearly cold. The lack of choice meant we ate elsewhere for 3 of the four nights. Our room was fantastic but the lighting had been poorly designed and placed.

The location and chateau are absolutely beautiful. We stayed in one of the suites in the annex building which had a balcony with a lovely view of the chateau. It's well located to drive to other parts of the Gorges du Tarn.

    No WiFi in our room.

Beautiful castle in a stunning location. Easy parking and peaceful.

The food was good but a little overpriced. No WiFi in rooms.

    10RitaPosted on: 5-3-2024

The castle , the rooms, the food was excellent. The staff very good and friendly. Always wanted to stay in a castle once in my life and this one did not disappoint. You have to have the dinner experience, so so good. The breakfast was also very good and buffet style. It was raining and even we still had a wonderful time.

One only complaint, the music at dinner was awful, some computer generated sounds and always the same. Must get a better playlist.

    8HawkinsPosted on: 4-27-2024

The location, the staff and the chataeu were all lovely. Could not fault staff at all very helpful and courteous.

The bed was too short and like all french beds hard and uncomfortable. We had to ask for milk for our room (milk supplied was a sachet of condensed milk!!). Which was provided on request no problem. Door to toilet and bathroom caught on floor and was difficult to open.

Wow what an amazing experience to stay in this ancient castle - we will never forget dining on the terrace (wonderful food) and looking out across the gorge. Our room was much more spacious and beautifully appointed than the photos showed.

Friendly staff. The young lady who greated us and showed us around was lovely. Restaurant staff were also very friendly and welcoming.
