About
Situated in the idyllic landscape of the Neusiedlersee-Seewinkel National Park, this former post office that has been converted into a charming hotel offers a unique accommodation in a tranquil location. Hotel Post Illmitz features cozy and clean rooms with free internet access, a restaurant, a terrace, and modern conference rooms. The helpful staff can organize tickets for all cultural events around Lake Neusiedl and provides insider tips. Airport shuttles from Vienna and Bratislava are available upon request. A wide range of Pannonian dishes, traditional Viennese cuisine, and excellent local wines are served in the restaurant and on the garden terrace. Located in the center of the small town of Illmitz, Hotel Post Illmitz is an ideal starting point for enjoying the famous wines of the region. It is also a perfect base to discover the unique landscape of the national park, which is well known for its many species of birds, on foot or by bike. Ferry boats take you to Mörbisch on the opposite shore of the lake, where a famous operetta festival takes place. Parndorf, with one of the largest outlet shopping centers in central Europe, is only a short drive away.

Pros +
- The location and the air conditioned room.
- The staff is super nice and helpful, we had a great checkin and breakfast experience
- Illmitz is a great location for watching wildlife in the Austrian Neusiedler See National Park, and Hotel Post made for a very enjoyable base at which to stay. The staff were all very friendly and took the time to talk to us, what our interests were and to get to know us as people. It was a very relaxed area and it was nice to be able to eat in the bar alongside local people. Evening meals were very good traditional fare.
