About

St. Martins Therme & Lodge on the banks of its own lake next to the Neusiedlersee-Seewinkel national park combines the exciting atmosphere of a safari lodge with the latest spa facilities. The buildings have been harmoniously integrated in the breathtaking landscape of the surrounding nature reserve, yet offering up-to-date luxury and style. Start your excursions through the Seewinkel and retreat afterward to this wonderful oasis of peace, to pamper body and soul in the large spa area. Plunge into the indoor and outdoor pools and spend relaxing evening hours on the lakeside terrace, enjoying the superb views of the Little Hungarian Plain. Every room at the St. Martins Therme & Lodge boasts its own balcony, a bathroom with daylight, a flat-screen satellite TV and wired internet access. The restaurant serves tasty local cuisine for which the province of Burgenland is famous for as well as a fine choice of selected wines. There are several bars on site, like the Darwins Bar, Humboldts Bar and Beach Bar. For the little guests there is a kid's club, play rooms and a children's cinema. You can park your car in the underground garage for an additional fee.

    Pros +

    • Excellent breakfast and dinner buffet, lots of choices, freshly made juices for breakfast.
    • An hotel for the greatest vacation. Full of activities, in the center of the nature, very clean. Great staff.
    • It’s our second visit. We were enchanted and fascinated again. The facilities are excellent. The service was, as a whole with little exceptions, very good. The food at breakfast and during dinner is at top level. The rooms are very well equipped. You have everyday for free at your disposal in your room’s fridge: water, beer, biolemonade, coke and other soft drinks.

    Cons -

    • The sauna area in the Spa (Martinstherme, not the hotel Spa) was not that clean.
    • Only the safari experience could have been better and more excited. Because we want to see more things and animals than frogs, swallows and ducks. Also, there was dust at bedroom, maybe because of the canopy from the top of the bed.
    • My stay at St. Martins Spa was far from the relaxing retreat I had hoped for. The resort was overcrowded—finding a sunbed, seat (in the area exclusive for people staying in the hotel!) or even a parking spot after a short trip was a struggle. Long queues at breakfast and dinner made meals feel rushed rather than enjoyable. You pay for accommodation with parking, yet you have nowhere to park. The waiters, clearly under pressure, moved and spoke as if working on a stock exchange—hardly creating a calming atmosphere. Additionally, many signs and labels were only in German, making it difficult for non-German speakers to navigate.Go instead to Rogner Bad Blumau or Hotel Bismarck in Badhofgastein - both places have a great and relaxing atmosphere without stress and fight for a place to rest.

Truly fantastic hotel at wonderful place. Exquisite food with wide of variety of choice even for small kids. Dinners with nice local wines served on deck - just awesome. Pool and spa, refreshing bathing in surrounding natural lakes. And at not the last, great staff - welcoming, professional, nice to kids.

WIFI could be better - at certain places, it's almost non-existent. Also the signage could be better - I'd bet that number of newcoming guests end at the daily reception to the wellness and spa area instead of the hotel itself ;-)

Hygiene is at a very high level in all the areas of the hotel. Most of the staff is very polite. The water in the pool is perfectly warm.Food was good at a express restaurant in the pool area...

This hotel is mostly for german speaking visitors, and it seems that the hotel management want to stay that way, thus the lack of english language signs is obvious. You can conclude that from the first second after you book a room, their "welcome email" is only in german. And the simmilar things will irritate you during the whole stay if you are a nongerman speaking tourist.Their dinner is based on "fine dining menu", starter, soup, choose one of the three main dish, and a desert. This wasn't highlighted during reservation process and I think it should, since that menu is still rarity these days.Very exotic menu and very small portions. Our first day we had a miniature starter, the most disgusting soup (potato, onion, garlic soup) I ever had, good but small main dish, and a dessert that we never eat. So we left hungry.Quiet disappointing...The bed creaks and the mattress was low quality and extremely uncomfortable.Fine dining and cheap beds and mattresses....This hotel is way overrated....I ussualy don't leave low ratings, neither plan to do it this time, but the receptionist was so rude during our check out and that triggerd me.We left out bathrobe and a pool towels in the room but brought the hotel bag to the reception desk, and his reaction was like " why didn't you leave it in your room omg (with a very mocking gesture)"So rude for goodbye...

Beautiful locationGood selection of activitiesGreat foodThe safari staff were fantastic Friendly staff in generalClean pools and lakeSo quiet and relaxing

We were not informed of some activities and having never been before did not get to do them (we will next time).Children’s menu was a little boring if you’re there for more than 4 days

    10AlexisPosted on: 5-2-2023

Everything was perfect. the little park outside with the animals, the food with the buffet…

a small kids park would be the perfect add on. and a much better wifi.

    10EvaPosted on: 4-18-2023

Wonderful hotel. Perfect therme with mineral water (32-35 degrees C). Fantastic facilities. Highly delicious and rich food in breakfast and dinner. Mini bar is included and it is refilled every day. Comfortable bed. Convenient parking. Different opportunities of outdoor activities. The night music in the bar near the lobby was very nice.

The low speed of the internet. The public outdoor and indoor pools were very crowded, but these in the lodge were just perfect! The little choice of food in the bars near the lodge pools.

We had great 3 days, everything was comfortable and fun, the breakfest and dinner were great, the spa facilities were super, highly recommended

It would be nice to have free or at least avaliable coffee and tea during the day for hotel guests, bar and coffeeshop quite expensive

Clean, comfortable rooms, excellent food and amenities, great spa and pools, very attentive and organized staff. I also appreciated the nice birthday present. Every detail was taken care of.

I would've liked a kettle in the room.

Despite not a low number of guests this property is so huge that you do not feel crowds in any spots. Sauna and pools are properly managed and there is enough beeths for everybody. Restaurant serves delicacy food.

We did not know that sauna area was included in the basic price (until we asked of course) so some people may hesitate to use it going through 2 check points.

Fabulous lodge with superb Therme in a stunning setting. Friendly and helpful staff. We checked in early and had full use of the facilities while our room was being prepared. Family spa (with swimwear) can be visited Fri and Saturday morning, which we could go to with our 9 year old son. We booked half board, so our evening meal (four courses) was included. The food was excellent, delicious and well presented. Especially liked the later check out (12pm), which meant we could use the facilities the next morning. The Lodge is extremely clean and comfortable and well decorated. It was a perfect end to our cycling trip and no doubt a special treat. We would love to return.

The nest beds at the lodge pool were reserved for suites, but during our stay more than half were empty and there were no free beds for us to lie in. We felt that was a pity and use could be monitored better
