- I booked this hotel as we were cycling down the Danube, and was dismayed, at the end of a long day, to find that it was located high on the riverbank. My grumbling turned to joy when we sat down with a glass of local wine on the magnificent patio overlooking a curve of the Danube. Truly glorious! The restaurant was also impressively good, with local specialties like Käsespätzle and Schnitzel unsurpassed.
- The photos on booking don't do this place justice. The panoramic terrace is gorgeous! What a place to have a beer after a long day walking on the Danube Trail. The room was very comfortable. Dinner was fantastic in the cellar. Breakfast was definitely on the higher end of ones I had in 3 weeks in Austria.
- We stayed here after biking 80 km and it was well worth the 600 meter hill to get to the hotel. Spectacular panoramic views of the valley and town. I am not a huge fan of schnitzel but the schnitzel at the hotel restaurant was the best I’ve had in multiple trips to Germany and Austria - light, crunchy, flavorful. The breakfast was excellent! The person managing the reception and restaurant is an uber-woman! Very kind!
Cons -
- It took me a few minutes to find someone to check in with when I arrived but I was there right at the start of checkin time so not really a huge deal
- Wish it wasn’t on such a steep hill but the beautiful panoramic views from the terrace more than made up for the climb.

We were satisfied with the accommodation, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. We may have been the only guests at that point in our stay, but the landlady made an effort and brought us a very nice breakfast. She was kind and accommodating and an extra bonus was the cute little dog that was with her??
Very well placed hotel with an exceptional view of the Danube and the hills. Breakfast well provided. Good choice of dishes in the restaurant.Lovely location for walks, visits to Passau or a boat trip on the Danube.

We were a family of 5 and we stayed for one night as we were in transit in Germany. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast was very good too. The location is beautiful and we would like to return to explore it.
We thought it was a small detour from the high-way but it is not close.
Nice room and restaurant.
It was at the top of a very steep hill and we were cycling!
The hotel is really nice. An ancient building full of history. The view was stunning. Beds are comfortable. We booked two rooms for our family. It is a pet friendly hotel which is amazing: outside some rooms there is a balcony that goes outside a little patch of grass. We did not travel with a pet, therefore be aware that in some rooms the dog smell will persist.
We were not able to completely open the window to our room and it was a hot and really humid night. The window would just open ajar.
Lovely location, very friendly staff.
The room furniture was "old fashion".
Beautiful location, good parking and very nice personel.
Shower cabin was broken.
I would like to say a BIG thank you for our stay there. We were travelling to England and were very tired, so we have decided to book a room and rest. I was very surprised that I could book this hotel very quick (I have booked it via Booking.com just 1 our before), they have available rooms and their check in desk was opened so late (it was nearly 10pm when we arrived at the hotel). The staff was friendly despite the late hour, the room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable, so we had a very restful sleep. The view is magnificent, we could appreciate it on the next morning. Even we have left before 6am the next day, I would say the hotel exceeded our expectations and we definitely want to go back there
I do not have anything I did not like there. Everything was on a high standard. The only thing was that duvets were quite short for us :) but we did not feel anything once we fall asleep.
The room was clean, continental breakfast ok (but ran out of butter ??). Value for money - no!
No tissues, no information how ceiling fan works, all the little things you expect for a room in this location and for that price. The room had sloping ceilings, the second bed could only be accessed bent over - even if you are not a tall person - which was especially an issue at night. When we arrived - and left - we had to look for someone to help us. A young lady laying tables also had to serve at reception and worked as the waitress in the restaurant at night. Same in the morning for breakfast. At no time did we see anyone who might be in charge of the hotel. Area around the hotel and parking looked neglected, not well taken care of. No lift, suitcases had to be carried up two flights of stairs, no help anywhere. Maybe not an issue for everyone, but difficult for seniors.
Location is very nice in a surprisingly pretty corner of Germany, with (as the name suggests) a view om the Danube river, especially from the terrace. Rooms are comfy and on the 1st floor all rooms have some seating outside. Good bathroom, beds are good. Enough space. Generally friendly staff. Breakfast is not buffet style but served (which has its charm).
We stayed here twice, and this time there was an issue with our bill. Somebody had accidentally added a dinner bill of someone else to our room number. When we wanted to check out, it turned out that the staff could not check this in the computer. This was on a Sunday morning and the check out lady at the same time had to keep other guests happy who were still having breakfast. So she had to call the manager to come to the hotel to resolve this with us, which took a while. I must say it was resolved correctly, but with a 900 km drive ahead of us, this delay was a bit inconvenient. Maybe (and understandibly) the cause of all the confusion with wrongly attaching the dinner bill, and the waiting on the next morning both have something to do with not enough experienced staff.
The breakfast was really good and we had quiet and comfortable beds. The restaurant food was really tasty as well and the terrace is great when the weather is nice. We had a walk around the area and it was really great.
It is rather pricy for the room and the portions for the price you paid in the restaurant were small. The hotel does not really react to requests or communication after the visit.
Great staff, nice place, wonderful nature!
Breakfast finishes at 10:00, not 10:30 as it's stated on booking, so when we came up at 10:02 we were refused first, but then they found something at the kitchen to eat for us.
Loved the location and viewsOur room was well appointedParking was excellentToiletries supplied including hair conditioner was greatly appreciated
Not being able to choose what we had for breakfast
Breakfast is okay, served at the seated table so no buffet. You can take breakfast on the terrace what has outstanding landscape. You have very good quality coffee or cappucino and you can ask 2 or 3 even if you want without charge. you have charcuterie, butter, different type of breads, home made marmalade, and nutella plus food salad, orange juice and water was also part of the breakfast. I saw couples ordering champagne for breakfast but I dont know if it was charged after. Rooms and beds are nice, clean and big, you have space. Ok, the furniture is not very recent but very decent. You have all what you need!
No hot water to take a shower nor in the evening, neither in the morning. if you want extraordinary buffet breakfast than it is not your place
include breakfast a bit poor, 3 adults received the same plate of food as 2 adults
surroundings
Nice staff, great landscape
There was no warm water at the property..
I loved the location and the hotel itself. Staff were amazing, very helpful, and polite
The only reason this hotel didn't get "Superb" from me is the lack of air-conditioning. Unfortunately we didn't get much sleep as there wasn't any air-conditioning in the rooms. It was way too hot to sleep despite the one window which we left open. Luckily, it had a Mosquito net on, but it was still too hot to sleep.
