Hotel Rakov Skocjan

Its main attraction is the location, otherwise it is a simple place to spend the night, but I appreciated very much that they could move my reservation by 1 day

Facilities are only for people who are ok with simple and basic, this is not a fancy hotel.

It is a cosy hotel in the middle of forest very clean.Comfortable place, with very friendly staff.Kids loved the place they enjoyed exploring the forest and running around.

The hotel is located in Rakov, outside of Postojna, so it is not near other businesses. It is quite remote. The facilities are simple, but the owner was very helpful at locking our bikes inside overnight! And charging the e-bikes.

It was confusing what amenities are an extra charge and how much they are, since they are not listed anywhere. The sauna and breakfast are extra; not included with the room. The shower temperature changed a lot.

It is more like a hut, less like a hotel.

The smell of cigarettes in the room was very strong no matter for how long we left all windows open.It was not very clean as well.

The service is great and the style is unique and the surrounding is simply awesome. I love Zuza, the Barkeeper woman. Kisses for her:)

For me everything was right, all negative comments just refer to personal prefetences. Maybe you will be disappointed if you are strictly vegan and/ or used to postmodern habits...Ok

Lovely secluded location. Nice place.

It was probably an exception, but when we reached the hotel it was shut up. When it was opened up to us it was actually really comfortable. We were the only ones in the hotel!

In fact, we arrived there about 8 P.M., but there was no body there! No any person in the Hotel and no any person for any guidance! All of the doors are lock! So, We came back!

The place itself is fine and the price is fair.

I had to wait literally for 2 hours for the host to arrive and to open the door for me. I arrived and there was no one there and they didn't pick the phone. After 2 hours, a guy appeared and said he was playing football. I had even filled the arrival time in booking.I thought the place wasn't even operating any more.

I don't want to experience something like that ever again. We arrived at the accommodation in the evening to learn that they had made a mistake, they had overbooked and they had no room for us. It was 9 o'clock in the evening. I asked the operator that I wanted to speak to the owner of the guesthouse, she told me that the owner was at a soccer game and could not be reached. The operator, we thank her for that, she immediately phoned us for another accommodation in a nearby village. Accommodation was therefore very simple, without air conditioning in the hot summer, but we had a place to rest our heads. The morning phone call with the owner of the guesthouse was appalling, the gentleman was rude, instead of apologizing to us he threatened us with the police... Never again.

The staff is very kind and helpful. The bed is vefy comfortable. Its a lovely place to stay in. We enjoyed every moment of it. It was easy to park with our car. The staff loved our dogs as well. :)

Is was not possible to open the window widely and the room was very hot.

Upgrade of the room. Kindness of employees.Location, place, quietness.In the center of the protected natural park, with walking paths from the Hotel to all marvellous wonders of Nature, caves, tunnels, rivers.

Limited choice of meals about the restaurant.

The location is beautiful and the staff were above and beyond wonderful, fun and lovely people. Remember this is fairly cheap accommodation in the wilderness so don't expect 5 star! But the atmosphere and people make it so much more special that a regular hotel. A wonderful stay while hiking.

Great price, beatuiful forest, kind staff

The most underrated place I've ever seen. Booking's rating don't do justice to it. Located in the middle of a forest, fantastic place to relax for a walk in the nature. The staff was great, they also offered me dinner free of charge. The dorm was nice, new furniture and clean - bathroom too.

The only downside is that the hotel is reachable by gravel road.

We chose this place based on the sauna, I contacted the place beforehand to make sure it's available and when we got there they told us it's not working. Moreover the food was barely eatable, low quality, looked like microwaved. The bed was very squeaky and not really comfortable. The parking space had very sharp stones, so we caught a flat tyre from parking there (turned out we were not the only ones).
