    • Loved the location, the views and the room. Our room was super spacious and beautifully decorated. The windows opened to a gorgeous view of the grapevines. Complementary lift tickets to go up to the cafe and restaurant too. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
    • Great location but don’t fall for their website. They show a pretty restaurant and wine but you won’t get them. We felt lied to and it sucks when you drive all the way there to find out the restaurant closed and you can’t buy wine at 7:30 pm. Their website states they close at 10 pm but that is not true on a Saturday night. I expect a “so sorry” response but this is the truth.
    • Beautiful property, comfortable rooms and superb customer service!

    Cons -

    • Not a thing!
    • They sell you a package but you better stop in town for dinner and drinks before you get there. I felt lied to. I so disappointed with this experience and it sucks even more when you show up with the love of your life for a special time and you expect great but you get a turd. You should have done better!
    • Poor maintenance. Shower jet weak due to dirt. No soup. No shower gel. After we complain, we got the onlyhand soup

Beautiful property, comfortable rooms and superb customer service!

Breakfast could have more options but nonetheless the it was fresh and yummy!

Great scenery, modern facilities, easy access, picture perfect views

Felt a bit “industrial” approach, although it has all ingredients that could make it amazing:- organize tours in own wine yard facilities- serve at breakfast local produce / own goods (e.g. grape juice?) instead of Slovenian standard imports- make the whole place come a bit more lively

Nice, quiet location. Great views over valley. Very good breakfast. Good beds. Friendly people. Haven’t tried wines unfortunately…

Loved the ambience, the quiet, the peace, the vineyards, the architecture, the view. The restaurant is excellent.

    That we had to leave.

Loved the Location in particular. It is right underneath the castle ruins and one can walk up to them through the vineyard. The accommodation block is very modern and stylish and the food (breakfast in particular) was very tasty.

I travelled with my sister and even though we are obviously related it would have been nice to have an actual bathroom door ... Also coming from New Zealand I am probably spoiled but we tend to have a hot water jug and coffee/tea in our rooms but I think in Europe that is generally not the case anyway so not a complaint at all but just an observation.

I will avoid the cliché "very good value for money". Not that it wouldn't fit, but because it wouldn't fully explain our stay at Wiengut Taggenbrunn. I think that the owners bought the fortress and the surrounding domain and pumped huge sums of money, not as a simple investment that seeks profit. In this case, the owners simply found a way to "deposit" the money in a property located in a good, traditional location. They bought a dilapidated fortress and created a fabulous, stylish and tasteful domain around it. The decision to share this domain with the rest of us is commendable. Why am I saying this? The prices charged maybe for visitors can be good from the "very good quality-price ratio" perspective. But from the perspective of the owners, is not profitable. They will not get the "recovery of the investment" in this life. That's why such initiatives deserve praise: these people deposited their money in a property without looking for immediate profit, they arranged all the things with a lot of work and passion. The rest of us just enjoy such jewelry at normal prices.

The hotel itself is very pretty and the location is perfect. Surrounded by vineyards and high up, it has amazing views of the hills, mountains and the valley below. Eating outside on the patio in the evening was a pleasure. The apartment was spacious and clean. The wines on offer are very nice.

I was put in the separate apartment block which had no wifi when I arrived. I asked about this and was told someone would look into it, but it was never fixed. On the Saturday evening of our stay there was a wedding reception and the restaurant was closed to hotel guests - we were never told about this, even though we had eaten in the hotel restaurant the two previous evenings of our stay.

Beautifully restored buildings and rooms. Exceptional view. The restaurant had an outside terrace where you could enjoy the view.

For breakfast we were put away in a small room behind the reception, everybody sitting at one big table. Selection was poor. Bread was clearly not fresh. Just some heated stuff from a supermarket.

the view, the room, the quietness, and the wine of course

low stock on breakfast; too many bees

    8JuliaPosted on: 8-10-2021

Breakfast was amazing! The rooms were beautiful, view from the windows was brilliant and the toiletries smelt especially nice.

I found the bed a bit uncomfortable.

The location itself is just amazing. Surrounded by wineyards with a good view to the Castle. The style is just great and very detailed.

Just some wishes or recommendations:An area to sit outside with rain protection would be great to enjoy that fantastic place also when there is bad weather.A self service area which you can use when the Heurige and the Shop is closed would also be a great opportunity.

The perfect location for travelers. Very clean. Very quiet. Great service.

I booked a double room on Booking.com. I upgraded (for a fee) to a Deluxe Double room because it stated i would have a "garden or landmark" view. What i had was 1 small window in the roof that had a view of the sky and the next roof. And this small window had an electronic window shade which did not work.
