Pros +
- The location is breathtaking. The stories about the two castles and the family is so interesting. It was well worth the drive.
- Nothing says luxury like space - this room was the most spacious and luxurious... It was elegant and extravagant. It had the largest bathroom, and shower that I've ever seen in a hotel room.Location had lots of walks in the local park.
- Wonderful historical building, classy room & bathroom design, superb surroundings
Cons -
- I wish we could have taken photos inside the castles.
- English was a slight barrier but we got by.
- Hotel’s famous restaurant was closed, although according to the reservation site it was supposed to be open during our stay. There is no restaurant around the hotel, so we had to drive back to Isny for dinner. This is unacceptable. The breakfast was also disappointing: you have to pay for a capucino, no one refilled the mineral water or the vegetables. What a pity!

We always liked to stay here due to the location. They eventually acknowledged the heating problem and did agree to a slight discount for one night.
We found the property has generally declined in appeal with very limited staff and during evenings no one.We had a night without heat in an ice cold room with no way to obtain any assistance.Generally the breakfast although adequate, was very limited.
The room already seemed a bit like a suite. It had a lot of space and a nice view. The staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was okay. The surroundings are quiet and you can go for some walks easily. Isny is not far away.
The heating in the bathroom was already turned on and it was a bit hot in the room. We were not able to regulate it.
specious room and tidiness
poor breakfast, sleeping bed was just average, some lights didn't work
We liked the accommodation, large room and bathroom, powerful shower, very comfortable bed and overall good quality furnishings and toiletries. The gardens and property are well maintained, and the restaurant, despite being located in a separate hotel, offers very good food at a reasonable price. The app is informative and helpful, and the WiFi worked well.
The management seems a bit chaotic, as staff seem lost or in a rush:- at check-in, we were not offered the Isny card; when we later asked, we were told that we had to ask;- at breakfast: no places had been set for us, used dishes etc were on tables, and we had to ask for a table to be set; in the buffet, food, hot water and orange juice hadn't been replaced, and for the two mornings that we were there, we had to ask.In all, it is a place where if you don't ask, you are not served. The food at the restaurant was very good, and the make waiter that served us on the first night was efficient and friendly. However, on the second night, the staff were rushing to close an hour before advertised. We would have bought from the minibar had the prices being available.
Beautiful place, with wonderful views towards mountains. We got suite as the last available room and it was huge, with historical ambience yet modern comfort, and lovely terrace to seat down and watch the nature. Breakfast was good, compact but enough of everything and good coffee. The dinner was served in adjusting house where main restaurant is and we enjoyed the quality and selection of food.
Nothing, all was really nice, friendly and smoothly.
Very beautiful schloss and the rooms are outstanding in space and equipments
The reception is almost absent and the overall atmosphere of the hotel is not very warm, impersonal.
Clean, enough parking, good breakfast, big rooms
There is no bar or place to have a drink or even sit at all in the hotel apart from your room, there is also nothing around in the village. Also strange that we booked a room for 3, but then needed to pay an additional fee for a third bed, they said it was mentioned on booking,, but we missed that.
Room size was unbelievable, good breakfast, quiet
Spiderwebs on corridor lights, lights working 24/7 in the corridors (not environmental friendly), defective lights (shower, closet and main room)
Lovely large room. Plenty of parking.
No restaurant, or at least it was closed for our visit, which was not communicated to us beforehand.
it has style, great staff, history combined with modern amenities.
We booked this hotel for the final night of our holiday. The rooms were lovely, and the building was beautifully renovated.
On checking in, we asked to book a table at the restaurant, the receptionist was cool and absent and gave us no additional information. When we went down for a drink before dinner, the two staff in the bar were being told off by the receptionist in a very loud voice and in front of all guests. There was no drinks list, and the staff had no idea what wines were available. We ordered a couple of glasses of reasonable white wine. No nibbles were provided. We were then told that dinner was in the neighbouring Hotel Sonne, which is a 2 or 3 star hotel owned by the same group as the Schloss. The meal was a major disappointment. Two of the six meat dishes on the menu were not available. My Wiener Schnitzel was burnt black on one side. The dining room was modern but very sterile, fine for fast food, but not for fine dining. We asked for a carafe of red wine and were presented with a single glass filled to the brim. We explained we wanted two glasses and a carafe. They didn't have a carafe and split the full glass into two. The wine was awful - tastelless and flat. So much for a fine dinner to end our holiday. We returned to the hotel at 2000h to find it locked up, the bar was locked up and no staff around. It must be emphasised that the Schloss Neutrauchberg DOES NOT have a restaurant. It serves breakfast (which was good) and afternoon teas, but not a full lunch or dinner. It is not a 4 star establishment, despite having very comfortable and spacious rooms. Its staff are very willing but poorly trained, despite the brochure the Schloss has produced extolling their training programmes for staff. We certainly will not be revisiting and don't recommend it to anyone.
SpaciousRooms. The breakfast is served in a nice ambiance.
A castle as you expect it be! Superb!
Magnificent setting. Spacious rooms. Lovely breakfast
Loved everything about it!!!
It's a castle. Not Disney and that might be the best part about it.
Very helpful customer service. Generous and pragmatic solution to big issues was found. Many thanks to the staff.
This was anexceptionally good hotel and the breakfast was excellent
