Pros +
- Everything! What a lovely location
- Beautiful old German castle, perfectly restored into top end hotel. Great staff, all very helpful and friendly,
- The location is nice and it's super easy to get to anywhere in the town by foot.
Cons -
- The small child in the room next to me woke up screaming during the night. Not the hotel’s fault but it might help to add soundproofing to the walls
- Was surprised that we could not take diner on the night of our stay. We were told the dining room was full!! We did however get an upgraded room.
- Its such a beautiful old building but it needs some more love. The grounds were in a really sorry state. We found most of the staff super rude but they were completely different with their German guest so perhaps they are just biased towards English people. The lady who checked us out didn't look up from her screen and kept us waiting for ages unsure if the process was done—when we asked her she laughed and said yes of course you can go. Very unusual behaviour. The breakfast room is nice but everywhere (excepting the rooms) needs a really good clean. The windows were all filthy and every bean and entryway was filled with cobwebs. Perhaps this hotel is better in the summer and they make more of an effort.

Charming lodging; really enjoyed walking through the vineyard and exploring the lodging (castle). Fabulous breakfast.
I liked the idea of sleeping in a charming schloss. Nice that breakfast was included. Receptionist in the evening was very friendly and helpful with assisting us re- booking a table at a nearby restaurant when theirs was closed. Was able to ask for smaller pillows.
Entrance was hard to find in the dark. Despite receiving an email if we wanted to book a table for dinner that night, we were told at check-in the restaurant was closed due to personnel shortage. Matrasses were below par for such an expensive hotel.
Charming and well kept. Historical building but welcoming.
Edesheim is not that exciting, other then the castle but there is so much close by to see and do.
Romantic, prettty location. Cuisine goodClCC
Cleanliness in room needed attention, dusty in parts. Long black hair in supposedly fresh bath towel, very off putting.Lovely
Prettily decorated place with a “castle like” atmosphere amidst the wine district. Especially the extremely friendly and helpful restaurant staff needs mentioning as they went out of their way to facilitate us with a table on their terrace.

Perfect place amidst vineyards, good breakfast.. pleasant location.
Nice location. Great possibilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Historic vibe.
Restaurant was not available during our stay. It is historic, so if you come during the summer, it's hot, so be prepared to open the windows at night to get a cool breeze. (No fans available)The outside was beautiful, but needed a little upkeep
Upgraded to really fancy rooms. Beautiful castle, gardens and setting.Hotel staff helpful changing room before our stay to a lower floor. All staff friendly and helpful. Beer was good too.
Vegetarian options on the menu were not great. Would be good to have protein included such as egg, quorn or cheese, nuts and seeds to replace the meat. Cous cous was presented beautifully but had no flavour or substance to it. I find this lots of places, cheese omelette or nut roast option would be a fantastic sight for this vegetarian to see on a menu ;0)
Fantastic older style Hotel and grounds. Superb Restaurant ! Comfy beds.
Nothing. But there is no lift to upper floors...
A beautiful property close to the the French Alsace region. Great breakfast and a nice rural yet close to city type feel. They have a few similar properties throughout Germany. A great breakfast too with the best coffee!
If you don’t like steps, be sure to book lower floors. We are young and we managed bring on the 4th floor.
The room was very spacious and it was very clean. There was a good selection of items for breakfast. The Schloss itself is a lovely building.
The grounds were a little unkempt , the grass in the seating area needed mowing and the pond looked like it needed attention. On the whole the Schloss is reminiscent of faded glory and could do with some tlc.
the staff was very kind to change 2 rooms into 1 large family room
Restaurant was fully booked so we had to go elsewhere. Beds not that compfy. Rooms not in main building but 200 meter walk. Apparently they let pets in as we found 2 dogs next door barking whole evening.
I loved the castle but was unable to stay in the main building due to having a service dog. I would have still been O.K. except I was unable to access the main building.
I had been told the building would be left open however when I went over to look around everything was locked up.
Transitting through the area on a motorcycle. Very nice location and was looked after very well by staff.
Hotel was split over four floors and no elevator
