About

Moulin de L'Abbaye is in the market town of Brantôme, in Périgord. It offers rooms with air-conditioning, a flat-screen TV, a safety deposit box and free WiFi. Brantôme village is considered the “Venice of Périgord”. You will discover the cultural and natural wealth of Périgord. The rooms are shared between 3 buildings: Moulin de L'Abbaye (main house), Maison du Meunier, opposite Moulin de L'Abbaye, and Maison de l’Abbé (Abbot House), 984 feet away on the other side of the river. Thus, according to the room category, you can be located in one or the other House. The restaurant and terrace offer views of the surrounding area including the oldest bell tower in France. Advanced booking is required before arrival. Breakfast is available daily in the restaurant. The reception is open 24 hours a day. A private parking is at your disposal at the rate of €15 per night. Please note that only members of staff are allowed to park cars so at your arrival, please let your car in front of the entrance.

A relaxing atmosphere & everything you want for you stay. The Hotel Restaurant is superb and the staff very friendly & knowledgeable. The Moulin de l’Abbaye has an ideal location overlooking the river and with views of the Abbey. The room was comfortable and well appointed. The staff were very friendly although we would have appreciated more recommendations for restaurants that weren’t linked to the hotel.

We were disappointed in the quality of the food and service at the restaurant Au Fil du Temps which is linked to the hotel and recommended by them..

Beautiful location, great views from room, nice rooms but WiFi doesn’t work

Great location, courteous staff, good breakfast and a comfortable bed.

Absolutely stunning location. Staff were very friendly. Property well appointed and maintained. Peaceful and wonderfully quiet.

Strange that they don’t provide any window coverings other than a sheer curtain. Light from the property lights shone in throughout the night. Breakfast was €22 and I got yogurt in a plastic container. Not what I expected from a Michelin star restaurant.

Nice location next to the abbey

They sent our laundry to be washed. There was no discussion or posting of the price. When we paid the bill, they had charged $165 Euros. I paid this under protest.I later had several calls with the hotel. I told them that this was a ridiculous price. Their response was that the clothes were dry cleaned. That also was ridiculous: it was mostly underwear and casual shirts. They agreed to look into it and get back to me. They never did. I made a final call and spoke to a young woman who agreed with me and on her own, provided a 25% reduction. This hotel is very impersonal. I wonder whether having a Michelin star restaurant makes the atmosphere of a place very formal and cold.In any event, I do not recommend this place, not just because of the laundry dispute, but because it is just so impersonal

Room lovely spacious and well appointed with a view of the river although in the building over the road from the main hotel. Breakfast good in nice situation looking out on the gardens and river. We ate in the bistro which was good. We were lucky to get free parking next to the hotel.

Location was great. Room was very comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean. Staff were very friendly

Michelin Star restaurant was good but we actually enjoyed the food at the Bistro better. Breakfast was good, albeit a little expensive for what it was.

    Wonderful location

Restaurant wasn’t open understandably but neither was it possible to buy a drink to enjoy in the amazing garden.

Outstanding location by the river near the town marketplace. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.

Common areas were very sparsely decorated.

Beautiful location, very spacious bathroom & good showers

Toilet is located away from the bathroom, which made it inconvenient for washing, etc. Room a bit small; would have preferred a smaller bathroom & more space for the room itself

The room was nice and good location. Good breakfast at added cost. The sister restaurant Au fil du temps was excellent.

The focus on the fine dining restaurant left an ordinary hotel guest treated as somewhat of a second class guest. No bar service.

Beautiful location, excellent staff, great food.

There was nothing that was unsatisfactory.

This hotel is exceptionally beautiful. Breath taking in fact! Location could not be beaten. The staff were attentive although their English was not very good and my French was worse! Really, the location does it all, for this hotel. It is small and exclusive. There are 3 eating options ( 2 bistros and the Michelin star restaurant) all of which are superb, and something to suit every taste and budget. Private parking is available at an additional cost but public car parks are very near by.

The rooms are set over three buildings, one of which is about 300m away from the main building so check when you are booking which building you are located in.

A unique property close to Brantome centre. We had a room with patio, chairs, loungers & hot tub in beautiful surroundings. A memorable stay for sure.

Superb location on the river, lovely garden with comfortable seating. Our room was excellent, with superb bathroom. Staff were attentive and helpful. Food delicious.

Beautiful room recently decorated - lovely bathroom. Most staff very helpful and friendly

We went for a drink in the two-thirds empty outside area by the river late in the afternoon and sat at a table with four seats. Was asked by the young waiter to move to a table seating two incase parties of four wanted the table. During our stay in the area, no other people came for a table or drink and when we left, there were considerably fewer people there than when we arrived. This slightly irked us.
